I sad that I couldn't experience this game for the very first time like this - but then I realized: They changed quite a bit and added / changed puzzles, - so even though I played the original mutliple times, I STILL get to play this game (almost) like it was the first time.
I'M SO HYPED!
Edit: The livestream recording is now available on YouTube: Let's Play The Riven Demo with Cyan's Harrison Pink and Claire Hummel
not even remotely true. in the original the bridge is fully functional and you even have to use the lever to power it, and another lever on the bridge itself to lower it- which in the original accesses the upper layers of the dome rather than the lower layer.
i feel like one of 2 things happened in your comment:
1. you are just straight up trolling, and maybe didnt even play the original
2. you vaguely remembered the steam coming from the pipe and mis-remembered the rest based on that fact (the steam does come from the top when the lever is off even in the original)
This ^^^ Thank you for writing that up.
Although, the bridge accessing the lower/upper level/fire marble puzzle I was on the other side of the dome, not the long bridge side. It was in-between the rotating room and the dome, the lever to access the firemarble puzzle was just inside the dome after the that bridge.
the dome has 3 floors. the fire marbles is the top floor, i was talking about the bridge accessing the middle floor. although i guess the one your talking about can technically reach both the marbles and the middle floor. the lever to power the long bridge is on the lower floor as it is in the demo and the original, and the lever to actually lower it once powered is on the bridge itself after crossing the bridge.
But I may well be wrong.
I interpreted that as the whole bridge shaking itself apart like the Tacoma Narrows collapse. The end nearest you is relatively well supported, whereas the rest of the bridge is on spindly little stilts.
