Switching resolution in fullscreen does nothing (Mac M1)
Playing this on a MacBook Pro M1 w/16GB RAM on an external 27" 2560x1440 monitor.
In Cyan's previous game Firmament, the built-in FPS HUD is reporting the resolution as the one I have sat for that game, when playing.

But in Riven, the HUD always reports 2560x1440 no matter what i set the resolution to in fullscreen. And in Windowed fullscreen (don't know the difference to fullscreen), the resolution in-game can't be changed. That it is using the full monitor resolution no matter what is also evident visually, as when I change the display resolution globally in the Mac settings, I can see that it is using this lower resolution when playing. Anybody else?

Firmament gives me FPS in the upper 30s when playing in 1680x1050, which is low-end of course, but enjoyable for me. But in Riven I cannot get much over low 20s, which is not enjoyable. To get higher I have to go below the "high" settings for most of the Graphics stuff, which I just don't want to do, having played the original beautiful version back then.

I'm kinda holding out on playing until Cyan releases some optimisation updates (or I get a newer Mac). Unless somebody knows some magic settings. I am using the MetalFX super sampling setting, without which the FPS is even lower.

Do you have super sampling enabled when you attempt to change resolutions?

Super sampling presets will not allow for manual resolution adjustments.

Thanks for answering! I had the Super Sampling method set to MetalFX - Performance. Now I tried to set the method to OFF - None and resume the game. That actually makes the game run WORSE, down to around 15 FPS. And i still can see no difference in resolution, it still seems to run at the full global monitor/display resolution no matter what resolution I set it to in the game.

Same issue here. Didn’t find a solution and returned the game
