Survey island "What am I doing?"
So I am at what seems like the primary thing on survey island:

The islands clearly map to the main islands of the game.
Obvious things: they fit into a square.
The broken maglev on the initial island would lead to that singleton spot in the upper right.
There are 5 islands, 5 domes, and an achievement for getting all 5 bridges connected -- yet I've only been to 4.

The problem I'm having seems to be technical in nature. I can't get this puzzle/interaction to do anything. Moving the mouse over the blank thing switches between "you can click here" and "there is nothing to click here". But clicking does not actually do anything.

What do I do here?

What blank thing? Can you be more specific?

Judging by your screenshot, your game seems to be glitched. The "blank thing" is missing its textures, and judging by the fact that clicking where the cursor changes does not seem to do anything, the missing textures are causing issues.

Can you give us your system specs and the settings you are currently running the game at? I am sure Cyan needs to look into this. In the meantime, we'll try and help you find a workaround.

OK I didn't see the screenshot before. That "blank thing" has a button on top.

Unless I'm misremembering, it does look like there are missing textures though. I assumed he had tried the button already...

They are definitely running it at very low resolution and graphics settings, but there's nothing missing that I can see. The interaction cursor appears when hovering over the pieces under the cover, which seems like a bug though.
