Minecart wheel in [spoiler] tunnel breaks

When I touched the control wheel of the minecart in Ghen's fire-marble mine while playing in flatscreen mode, instead of automatically wheeling me to the end at a steady pace like it's supposed to now, it LAUNCHED me straight to the end of the track as if the wheel were suddenly updating to be at its final value.
Touching the wheel again nudged it SLIGHTLY back on the track, and now trying to move the wheel again just disengages me from interacting with it, but doesn't move the cart at all, so it's now stuck permanently out of position. I would be softlocked if I weren't just playing a loaded save to look for changes made by the update.

UPDATE:
I reloaded the save I was playing and it didn't do it this time. I honestly don't know what I did differently, though.
