Bridge pieces float in space.
Has anyone else noticed that after collapsing the bridge, if you walk up to the edge of the bridge from the Crater island side and look down you can see at least two pieces of the bridge with shadows beneath them making them appear as if they are floating in space? And no, they are not in shallow water.

Can you get a screenshot? That sounds like a glitch that maybe not everyone encounters. At least, I dont recall seeing anything like that. Then again, I may not have looked straight down from the Boiler/Crater Island side.

I do on my personal computer but not in Steam. Don't know how to upload from my iMac if I didn't save them through Steam.

I went to the spot just outside the tunnel and didn't see any pieces of the fallen bridge so think this might be a bug.

If you have gone outside the tunnel at the end of what is left of the bridge and look down and DON'T see at least 5 pieces of the bridge in the mud/dirt then THAT's a problem or a different between PC and Mac.

I'm pretty sure the animation and resultant debris should be consistent. There doesnt seem to be any variability to it across playthroughs.

Exactly. Thanks for the confirmation screenshots Marck. The top piece that is floating looks like a metal railing and bottom piece looks like a wood plank. Also I give the skinny board on top of the double board to the left a pass as to looking like it is floating. Regardless, the first two boards definitely look like they are floating because of the shadows.

I see this as well, the shadow of the planks is separate from the planks. The planks are above land not the sea.

Just took a look in my own game, I see this as well. It looks to me like there's an unloaded object those two boards are supposed to be sitting on. Like a pile of rubble or an extra dune or something.

No, I think this is a clear mistake. If you look at the two boards together on the left that casts a shadow, you could say they are sitting on a ridge where water cut a channel that their shadow falls into. However, the two floating boards should be laying in the bottom of the channel with no shadow. Actually, after looking at the closeup screenshot, I would think they should be stuck in the mud like the board on the far right (with no shadow) after falling from that height.

This has been reported to support@cyan.com and the team is aware of the issue and is investigating.
