crashing when arriving in submarine
Hi,
I am playing in VR using a Quest 3 and Virtual desktop. Whenever I arrive at any of the ladders using the submarine car in the village I get a fatal crash, does anyone have a solution while I wait for official support?
Error below.

Thanks

I've been experiencing the same issue. Turning on the skip vehicle animations setting in the controls/comfort menu should allow you to avoid the crash until it gets a proper fix. Skipping ladders will also help if you experience a crash while using them. On top of that, it helps to make sure you are standing still when the game is moving you or locking you in place as moving OOB during these moments seems to cause the crash quite frequently.

I got this a lot. I think recentering your playspace then trying not to move too much helps.

Same here. Crashing in the same place. I'm on Quest 3 using steam link.

Hi all,
This is a known issue we're hard at work testing a fix for, to be patched ASAP.

In the meantime, please share this link with anyone you see reporting the same, if you're so inclined. It'll help our support team from getting flooded by multiple requests about the same issue.

If you're on a Vive Pro, please try the workaround, too. Cheers!

I am getting a failure here, lose video data but still have audio so I hear the submarine chugging away. I use the Meta 3 headset not Vibe.

im crashing now to when i arrive in Ghen's world and he starts coming up the stairs to see you, same error.

Occulus Rift CV1 here, and I found a workaround, but this should work for people using any Meta headset hopefully. You need to go into your Meta Quest Link app > Settings > General > Set Meta Quest Link as active OpenXR Runtime.

If you were using the SteamVR runtime to upscale your resolution, unfortunately you're going to go back to blurry town. Though I understand you can use tools to upscale from the meta runtime too. Though that might not be an option for me because I had to do a DLL hack to get my CV1 working.

Anyway. Meta Quest Link OpenXR Runtime doesn't crash for me. It just fades slightly for a brief second as I pass a stop or come to a stop.

switching to oculus airlink instead of steamvr helped with the crashing for me FYI

I'm getting this issue on a Valve Index. Video card is a GeForce RTX 3050, driver version 536.23.

Here's the exact text if it helps any:

Not fixed in last patch, using openxr with virtual desktop. Not using steamvr.

Also receiving this crash (arriving at the submarine's destination, same error message) on Win 10, Valve Index and GTX 1080.

Following the instructions in the link above (presumably since I have an Index rather than a Vive) where there should be API layer settings, instead I have "No OpenXR API Layers Installed".

I'm also getting these crashes. Both on the submarine and in Ghen's world and in the tunnel leading down to the animal puzzle. I use Varjo Aero, Win 11, RTX 3080 Ti.
