have you ever used a thing to see something you could not before?
or really to the point:
use the lens (keyboard R) to light up some marks on the floor
Prisoner disappeared after opening the cell, figured it was the old loose brick trope. Hovered over each brick near where he was sitting until the hand icon changed.
Nice, I did not know about the moiety viewing glass and spent twenty minutes in that room before giving up and looking for hints. That’s not how it worked in the original game.
Note that the thing missed above is super important for something else major btw, so make sure to get it. ( And yes, it's an easy miss. I missed it for awhile too, but went searching because I knew something was missing. A lot of people are missing it in fact. )
It might be difficult to find, but every single puzzle in the game is laid out. If you don't have a straight answer of "This should be X", then you have missed something.
Certainly, it can be a bit difficult at times to recognize the difference between "I haven't understood X" vs. "I am missing X", but that's to do with the challenge of requiring you to figure some things out.
The main thing I was saying though, is if you are at a point of trying absolutely everything with no rhyme or reason, then you have unquestionably missed something, and are best rethinking what you're doing.
Whenever I hit a wall like that, best thing to do is leave the location you are, and look around. Check your notes for anything related. Most of the time you have missed something, it's because it's somewhere else. ( Though there's a few where it's at the place, but easy to miss. <shakes fist at the boiler> )
Oof, yeah they should definitely prevent this from happening. I'd go as far as to say they shouldn't even allow the hidden button to be interacted with until the lens has been found.
