Does this game have HDR and/or Ray Tracing?
New trailer looks great, but with obvious screen-space reflections. Does this game have ray tracing at all? All good if not.

How about HDR? :)

RT would suit this pretty well. but yeah the screenspace reflections artifacts means probably no, at least not at launch

HDR is a toggle.

Wait! Can we turn off HDR? I looked in the options, but couldn't find it... Gosh i hate HDR, makes everything looks washed out.

When it’s working, HDR is the opposite of washed out; if it’s washed out then your os or display hardware is messing something up.

Getting out of Riven topic, but EVERY game i play on PS5 looks washed out with HDR and great without it. Might be my TV settings.

ya dude when you have it set correctly it is the most game changing thing visually. Moreso than ray tracing or 4K, HDR is like looking through a window

yeah i really hope we see raytracing at some point. a lot of the reflections in the old game still look better than these and raytracing could change that.

definitely sounds like the TV is not properly detecting and displaying the HDR signal. Or it might just not be a TV capable of displaying the HDR range and therefore it squeezes it down to the SDR range it can actually display (you see this a lot on cheap tvs that add 'HDR' support just for the sake of putting it on the box)

I dont have a lot of personal experience, but I've heard that entry-level HDR computer displays dont do it justice.

This. Most entry-level HDR monitors are only capable of a peak brightness of 400 nits and usually don't have dimming zones. With an LCD based monitor you would want at least 1000 nits, and the more dimming zones the better.

Even better if you have an OLED panel

Just to reinforce my own current understanding, there is a difference between what many older titles referred to in options menus as HDR and actual modern HDR.

The former is the technique of simulating eye adaptation to changing light levels and adjusts visuals- usually creating blown out whites and muddy blacks, while the latter is the display's ability to render detail by scaling brightness at its minimum and maximum points- meaning there is the maximum amount of visual detail in both light and dark areas.
