Game is insanely hard
What is this? I cant even beat the first boss after the main game is unlocked. I am not even close and I am lev 30.

Going against elites is also a seemingly impossible task. The only easy one is the failed experiment. If you cant beat the elites then you are not strong enough to beat the boss.

How is this fun or balanced? I asked for a refund.

I'm level25, but I defeated elites and boss.
However sometimes I lose in the first battle.
So your way or bad luck.
Keep up it a little longer, you will be having fun.

Do not attack elites if they spawned near game start, it is impossible without very good knowledge of their decks. Beating elites is not a "must do", look for events routes, get artifacts to win.

In the beggining you lose a lot, i was there and felt the same. The further you get, the more experienced you will be and the more cards you unlock = more wins.

Put checkmark into Archmage square to get extra energy and start acumulating it by losing. Use spells often, have lighting one for dmg (3 dmg in beggining, then switch for 4-8).

Play booster decks only, cus others are hard without proper spells.

This is roguelike, you supposed to lose over and over until you learn how to play properly.

This isn't true from what I have experienced. You can have all the skills in the world but luck is luck. You are gonna lose a lot because of the randomness of the game.

Dude, i get +50 energy from archmage bonus for every game, are you really saying you cannot win with that much spell power due to some "luck"? One of my spells is "play card from deck", the other is "copy enemy unit with all stats". I am losing only when super lazy and pressed pass while still having 3 cards in hand and hoped 60 points is enough.

Game is far from hard, just don't try to beat elites early on. Also the first deck is the easiest to play with, vysogota just carries and you outscore easily all opponents. Also I don't mean to brag but I've been trying to speedrun the game and If you know what you're doing it just gets too easy.

were you not complaining this week about an impossible battle? You are kinda all over the place

Hard? Somewhat. Sorely in need of balancing? Most certainly.

I use a second deck from left.
Keycard is the card which have bleeding.
You must to avert from elites in first half.
However you must to battle elites in second half 2 times, because you need to upgrade the keycard.
If it does that, you can defeat the boss of dragon easily.
Good luck.

After reaching level 88 it gets alot easier, cause you unlock the spell to destroy any unit you want. In my mind its the most helpful part in the game.

Okay I take back what I wrote. I discovered arch-mage mode which helps a lot. Having better spells also help. Still, a huge learning curve for new players.

If anyone is struggling, pick the treasure (cloak) that boosts a unit and gives immunity. Give it your key cards and you should win against bosses and elites.

I played Thronebreaker when it came out and loved it enough to replay it 2 more times. I moved onto Gwent, and while I enjoyed it, the fact that your rankings got erased between seasons was a turn off for me. I saw a LOT of negative reviews of this game, but having played Gwent and Slay the Spire, I felt it would certainly be worth $9.99. It is a challenging but fun game with many options and different paths to win, but you have to choose your in-game rewards and card picks/removals to synergize with your starting deck, potion, spells and primary card. Sometimes the reward and card choices slowly stack up negatively and you can sense it's gonna be a loss. Other times, you take a risk on a new reward and slam the game easily; The Mutangenator reward is incredible, it allows you slam your opponents with mid level cards that have good deploys and orders.

So yeah, it's not an easy game, but the losses give you points and unlocks to ever more powerful spells, potions and primary cards. Just be patient and figure out how the enemy beats you and take away those cards as a focus, you will find the game much easier to win that way.

not hard, just unbalanced
LoudSilence2112 Jul 20, 2022 @ 9:18am
I've played 7 runs, beaten two bosses, lost to one by 1 point, and lost to two elites by 2 pts each time. It's not impossible, or really all that unbalanced. You have to play patient and maximize your synergies. And, artifacts help a ton. The spyglass and prism are extraordinarily powerful items.

Edit: As others have mentioned, it is a matter of doing multiple runs, learning the enemies and their decks, and understanding how to play around their mechanics. My advice, select Add a Card after every win. You can get enough mulligans and card cycling to get the worse cards out of your hands. The power of the new cards you get to select from tend to outweigh ever removing anything from your deck.

really depends what you get and what your account lv is.
there are some pretty sick combos. like beating the final boss ( the fire demon ) by 1.000pt...

the "bullwar"k deck for example has

- "iris: shade" - remove a units armor n boost self by that amount.
but its not a deploy, its an order usable every 2nd turn.
- "living armor" - i always have armor equal to my power.
so it is the exact opposite like multiplayer gwent. this living armor basicly is dmg immune.
and iris shade can feed from it without ever removing armor.
- than there is the spell "mirror image" - creates a 1 power copy of one of your units. so even more "iris: shade"

in the "hive mind" deck you can use

- your leader "queen meve" with
- "mirror image" the buff is quite sth once you have 9 copys on board.
- the deck also contains "idarran" for even more "meve" copies.

mirror image requieres account lv 54.
everything else mentioned unlocks earlier.

[edit] when the opponent is assimilate n steals your iris:shade
