However sometimes I lose in the first battle.
So your way or bad luck.
Keep up it a little longer, you will be having fun.
In the beggining you lose a lot, i was there and felt the same. The further you get, the more experienced you will be and the more cards you unlock = more wins.
Put checkmark into Archmage square to get extra energy and start acumulating it by losing. Use spells often, have lighting one for dmg (3 dmg in beggining, then switch for 4-8).
Play booster decks only, cus others are hard without proper spells.
This is roguelike, you supposed to lose over and over until you learn how to play properly.
Keycard is the card which have bleeding.
You must to avert from elites in first half.
However you must to battle elites in second half 2 times, because you need to upgrade the keycard.
If it does that, you can defeat the boss of dragon easily.
Good luck.
If anyone is struggling, pick the treasure (cloak) that boosts a unit and gives immunity. Give it your key cards and you should win against bosses and elites.
So yeah, it's not an easy game, but the losses give you points and unlocks to ever more powerful spells, potions and primary cards. Just be patient and figure out how the enemy beats you and take away those cards as a focus, you will find the game much easier to win that way.
Edit: As others have mentioned, it is a matter of doing multiple runs, learning the enemies and their decks, and understanding how to play around their mechanics. My advice, select Add a Card after every win. You can get enough mulligans and card cycling to get the worse cards out of your hands. The power of the new cards you get to select from tend to outweigh ever removing anything from your deck.
there are some pretty sick combos. like beating the final boss ( the fire demon ) by 1.000pt...
the "bullwar"k deck for example has
- "iris: shade" - remove a units armor n boost self by that amount.
but its not a deploy, its an order usable every 2nd turn.
- "living armor" - i always have armor equal to my power.
so it is the exact opposite like multiplayer gwent. this living armor basicly is dmg immune.
and iris shade can feed from it without ever removing armor.
- than there is the spell "mirror image" - creates a 1 power copy of one of your units. so even more "iris: shade"
in the "hive mind" deck you can use
- your leader "queen meve" with
- "mirror image" the buff is quite sth once you have 9 copys on board.
- the deck also contains "idarran" for even more "meve" copies.
mirror image requieres account lv 54.
everything else mentioned unlocks earlier.
[edit] when the opponent is assimilate n steals your iris:shade
