I saw the name for the game and I was so excited that we are finally getting a game based on the legendary novel. Yet it looks like this is a cash grab using the novels name and that is it. Pretty gross practice which I hope the name changes so if someone does come along and make a game based on the book we get it... not this mess.

Its the second best selling novel ever in Japan. It received 2 movies, 2 anime series, anime feature film, 4 different manga series, one by the great Junji ito,

The game isn't trying to be a spinoff or an adaptation. Anyone who looks at even ten seconds of the trailer will pretty quickly come to that conclusion. There is very little room for confusion.
