What is Fall of Porcupine?

After arriving in the sleepy town of Porcupine, players will don the scrubs of Dr. Finley, a newbie hospital resident who’s excited to aid the ill and prove himself in the medical field. However, what first starts out as friendly, small-town charm slowly begins to lose its facade, and some of the residents’ good-natured masks begin to slip. Not everyone is honest with themselves and others, and the harsh reality of the healthcare industry begins to rear its ugly face. Throughout this touching and poignant story, Finely will be challenged to face what it means to be a doctor, and that the balance between work and personal life may prove to be far more challenging than he ever anticipated.

Is/Will Steam Deck be (fully) supported?

As the application process is still shrouded in mystery to both developers and publishers alike, it is tough to say at the moment. If Steam/Valve might get across our game and kicks off the process, we surely will take a look into Steam Deck and try to get it supported and hopefully verified at some point.
However, at this point we cannot make any promises or guarantee anything so far!

Which languages will Fall of Porcupine support upon release?

We are working to get as many languages as possible available on all platforms. As a narrative game, text quality is very important for us and we want to make sure the text quality is a good as possible on every platform.
Currently, the game will feature texts in German, English, French, Korean, Simplified & Traditional Chinese. Japanese will be available later. Additional languages are not planned yet.

Known Issues about Localizations

Korean, Simplified Chinese and Japanese can have some issues with displaying texts. We are aware of this and will fix this soon.

II. General Gameplay Questions

I have no idea where to go or what to do // I came back to the game after a while and forgot, what I was supposed to do

There is an option in the accessibility menu called “Player Guidance”. If you turn this on, you will get constant quest info about what to do next while you play the game.

The Minigames are too hard for me // I have the problem that my keyboard does not recognize three button strokes at once

We know that a small amount of keyboards may have problems with triple keystrokes. We implemented an option in the accessibility menu called “Simple Minigames” that will help you. It changes, for example, the requirement of the “Bandages”-Minigame to just press each button once instead of holding them all together at once. This option is not yet available on Nintendo Switch and Playstation 5.

My game displays a black screen after the trigger warning message!

Turn up your sound! This is actually not a blackscreen. The game starts with a dream that Finlay has. The visuals will come up after a few seconds!

What if I want to replay the game?

In the options-general menu, there is an option to delete the savegame. This will reset your full progress and lets you start the game all over again. This option is only available from the main menu, not ingame.

Where are the savegames and logfiles located?

The log and save files are under
*\AppData\LocalLow\Buntspecht Film und Digitales GmbH\FallOfPorcupine
However, the savefiles copy the data into a registry file. So in order to completely reset the progress, it is not enough to delete the save files. The “delete saved game” option in the options menu deletes both the save files and the registry entry.

Does Fall of Porcupine have any accessibility options?

Yes!
• Font size can be changed
• Several different color blindness modes
• Simple Minigames mode
• Dyslexia Font option

Will the game feature controller support?

Yes.

Will the game feature Steam Cloud functionality?

Not at the moment. Maybe in the future.

Will Fall of Porcupine feature an auto-save function?

Though this is a tough question, the average gameplay time is about 8 hrs.

Da der Bewerbungsprozess sowohl für Entwickler als auch für Publisher immer noch geheimnisumwittert ist, ist es im Moment schwer zu sagen. Wenn Steam/Valve auf unser Spiel stößt und den Prozess in Gang setzt, werden wir sicherlich einen Blick auf Steam Deck werfen und versuchen, es zu einem bestimmten Zeitpunkt zu unterstützen und hoffentlich zu verifizieren.
Allerdings können wir zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch keine Versprechungen machen oder irgendetwas garantieren!

Welche Sprachen wird Fall of Porcupine bei der Veröffentlichung unterstützen?

Wir arbeiten daran, so viele Sprachen wie möglich auf allen Plattformen verfügbar zu machen. Da es sich um ein narratives Spiel handelt, ist die Textqualität für uns sehr wichtig und wir wollen sicherstellen, dass die Textqualität auf jeder Plattform so gut wie möglich ist.
Derzeit wird das Spiel Texte in Deutsch, Englisch, Französisch, Koreanisch, vereinfachtem und traditionellem Chinesisch enthalten. Japanisch wird später verfügbar sein. Weitere Sprachen sind noch nicht geplant.

II. Allgemeine Fragen zum Gameplay

Ich habe keine Ahnung, wohin ich gehen oder was ich tun soll // Ich bin nach einer Weile zum Spiel zurückgekommen und habe vergessen, was ich tun soll

Im Zugänglichkeitsmenü gibt es eine Option namens "Spielerführung". Wenn du diese Option aktivierst, erhältst du während des Spiels ständig Informationen darüber, was als Nächstes zu tun ist.

Die Minispiele sind zu schwer für mich // Ich habe das Problem, dass meine Tastatur keine drei Tastenanschläge auf einmal erkennt

Wir wissen, dass eine kleine Anzahl von Tastaturen Probleme mit dreifachem Tastendruck hat. Wir haben im Eingabehilfen-Menü eine Option namens "Einfache Minispiele" implementiert, die Ihnen helfen wird. Sie ändert z.B. die Anforderung des "Bandagen"-Minispiels, jede Taste nur einmal zu drücken, anstatt sie alle gleichzeitig zu halten. Diese Option ist auf Nintendo Switch und Playstation 5 noch nicht verfügbar.

Mein Spiel zeigt nach der Trigger-Warnmeldung einen schwarzen Bildschirm an!

Drehen Sie den Ton lauter! Dies ist eigentlich kein schwarzer Bildschirm. Das Spiel beginnt mit einem Traum, den Finley hat. Das Bild wird nach ein paar Sekunden angezeigt!

Was ist, wenn ich das Spiel noch einmal spielen will?

Im Menü "Optionen - Allgemein" gibt es eine Option zum Löschen des Spielstands. Dadurch wird dein gesamter Fortschritt zurückgesetzt und du kannst das Spiel noch einmal von vorne beginnen. Diese Option ist nur über das Hauptmenü verfügbar, nicht im Spiel.

Wo befinden sich die Savegames und Logdateien?

Die Log- und Speicherdateien befinden sich unter
*AppData *LocalLow *Buntspecht Film und Digitales GmbH *FallOfPorcupine

Allerdings kopieren die Speicherdateien die Daten in eine Registry-Datei. Um den Spielfortschritt komplett zurückzusetzen, reicht es also nicht aus, die Speicherdateien zu löschen. Die Option "Spielstand löschen" im Optionsmenü löscht sowohl die Speicherdateien als auch den Eintrag in der Registry.

Hat Fall of Porcupine irgendwelche Zugänglichkeitsoptionen?
