Oasis no Rune run
Is there a way to finish this level without going through the rune room?
Asking out of curiosity - I remember playing original BoD almost decade ago, with 0 Runes (then replaying levels to reach higher character LVL... only to find out that new enemies will give you 0 XP) and somehow can't finish Oasis without visiting the rune room.

Yes, it is possible. You can see the example here:

There are two ways in that area. You either shoot the rune symbol with your bow or solve a puzzle and fight against a Golem. Getting the rune is faster but assuming you are doing a no rune run then go for the puzzle + Golem. You just need to head downstairs instead of shooting the rune symbol. Simple as that. You can access directly to that area (not the one with the rune symbol to shoot at) by using a hidden path. It is where you fight some skeletons and a minotaur. You just need to drop down and destroy some barrels. Then there is a elevator which send you directly there (i don't remember well if it was like this. I don't use that hidden path so often)

All the runes are in secrets, so yes.

There are 2, basically secret, paths on how to progress once you break through the wall. Once you enter the cave, you can go to the left path and at the end of it drop to a corridor that leads to the elevator where the lever to open the main courtyard door is. That leads you to the upper area of the golem puzzle.

Or you can keep hugging the right wall. This path goes down and eventually leads you to an elevator which takes you back to the top. Around the middle of this loop, you can drop down (there are visible platforms in the abyss below) and there is an elevator that will take you to the golem puzzle from below (also a lever that will open the gate leading to the loopback elevator).

Even if you use the path through the door, the intended way is to use one of the 2 side corridors to go down to the puzzle area. The rune is absolutely a secret.

Just don't pick up a bow until you re-run the rune-levels. (since you need it there eventually)

This also has the advantage, that you can hold one more melee-weapon, such as the elemet-weapons, which may be found 3-5 levels too early... (and so you must carry them with you, if you want to use them...)

Yeah the weapon limit suck major balls.
One slash, one blunt, bow and special sword oh her majesty...
Hoping that current one have easy combos and decent damage output.

More base damage doesn't mean that weapon is good (just in case you are talking about the base damage a weapon provides). You can spam attacks (like most of the beginners do) with a high damage weapon, get blocked by the enemy or fail and still die. I finished the game with weapons that had low damage but insanely good combos. Those weapons never passed the 100+ base damage. As example the Katana (long sword) or the Elven sword. The important is the combo and if is easy or tedious to do. For me Blade of Darkness is a game that needs a lot of balance and even more about weapons. I mean, some combos are so freakin easy to do and at the same time they deal a lot of damage or perform 3 hits, etc. These combos should be more hard to do since they are insanely good. Truth is the game will never get a balance patch because people say this game is to hard already *sigh*

yes, its actually the more intuitive way to go forward. I often forget about the rune in that level due to it. Just unlock the door behind the golem and jump down the wooden beams.

The scimitar combo is very easy to do, and the damage blows the Elven sword out of the water. For the Knight high damage weapons make a lot of sense as well due to the insane damage North Cross and Southern Cross combos do.
