I think the old girl (boy?) is finally dead. Things started breaking a few months ago, like buying scarabs and getting them credited to your account, and it was downhill after that. There hasn't been dev support in over a decade, so I think it's done.

Someone added an SSL certificate to the site yesterday so someone is "actively" maintaining things

That process can be automated, so maybe, maybe not. The certificate was generated by Let's Encrypt, which describes itself as "a free, automated, and open certificate authority (CA), run for the public’s benefit." So I'm not holding my breath.

Looks like the website is gone now too, I happened to have a bookmark for the website just to see if it was still up lol (Honestly, very interesting that it’s been up all this time seemingly without dev support)

Really a shame, I liked Nile Online. RIP. Maybe a die-hard fan will resurrect it one day? Not gonna hold my breath though ._.
