Game won't launch

I owned this game previously on my older computer and just purchased it from Steam for my newer computer. I have spent 4 hours trying to get the game to launch. I've read through other discussions about troubleshooting and nothing is working. I've tried launching with compatability mode and changing screen resolution. Any other suggestions? I really loved this game when I played it in the past and would love to play it again.

Thank you. I got it to work for a few days, but when Steam updated last night it stopped working again :(
