I don't even think it would be that difficult really, adding things like rewinds or reducing enemy health/damage for other difficulty settings seems like a pretty easy way to implement it. But to say again: I DON'T want to make it so that people who enjoy a harder experience can't get that experience... I simply want people like me to be able to enjoy it more as well :-)
Yet i'm willing to spend a handful of hours on this game, since from the get start, there seems to be a lot of events, cards, decisions and stuff to do, even if it always ends in beating enemies.
Especially since yesterday when i reach the third act boss, and defeat him, with L33.
However, nothing is over and there is still plenty to discover.
I really like when roguelikes do this, and let you win from run to run if you play somehow good enough and not like a gamer from outer space and "get good" nonsence.
Always look at your patch and the cards given to you and see if they share a connection, don't just take any patch or cards that you see. In many situation, you might also wanna start getting rid of your weaker cards in the store so your deck is not bloated. Keep your deck with just the necessity so you can draw them out faster, and you'll be golden.
OP: at least it's possible to quit a fight and reload at the start of it if things went sour (like in Slay the Spire).
