Influencer in La Colina Sangrienta & buying the Private island

I still can't unlock the influencer for La Colina Sangrienta, I finished the Benita mission, but when I talk to her to inform her that her brother is dead, I'll just have the same conversation over and over. And when I talk to Malik James (The influencer near Benita) I only have the option to say 'I dont know' and I can't seem to create drug demand in that area. As I've unlocked all other areas I doubt that I'm supposed to 'unlock it later on' as me and my friends are pretty far in the game.


Another issue I encountered was that when I try to buy the private island (at the For Sale sign) it says 'someone is already viewing this property' and I can't seem to find a way to buy it.

Can someone please give me a hand and tell me if I'm doing something wrong, or if this is a bug that other people have as well.

1. In edge cases, Benita's mission can still be blocked! Here are the cases:
- The rescue quest will be blocked if Jean is killed by a gangster/police officer.
- If the player dies during the fight in the cave (the quest to free Jean in the cave), Jean will appear on the hill above the cave in a place where he cannot get down (so he cannot be rescued).

If you encounter any of the above problems, the quest will most likely not work for you.

Also, to be on the safe side, if you get a quest for Goal A, you go straight to Goal A, you don't collect flowers on the way, you don't fight anyone, etc., you do what the current mission requires of you and move on. And so on through this entire questline with rescuing Jean in the cave.

2. We are aware of this and are looking into it. Try restarting the game.

Hi Alyss, Thanks for you reply! Jean didn't get killed by a gangster/police officer and I didn't die during the fight. I killed Jean and tried to tell Benita about 50 times but she just keeps having the same dialogue. I understand that restarting the game will solve this, but since I've got 108 hours on one single save, I doubt that's the kind of 'fix' you're intending right? Can't expect players to throw away hours of gameplay because of a bug that hasn't been fixed for months (I've reported this a few months ago as well)

The devs are looking into the issues you raised, this questline is complicated and can be done in different ways, so we need to check every possible way, which may take some time. I understand where you are coming from, but I was just trying to help you and enjoy the game.

I have this exact problem 8 months on. I chose to kill the brother. Benita acknowledges the death but nothing happens, and Malik the influencer won't speak to me nor will the Reverend in Dueno Del Mar. This was about 20 in-game days ago so I am not going to rollback obviously. Hasn't it been fixed?
