Regarding Drug Dealer Simulator & Schedule I situation
Hey everyone,

We’d like to address the Drug Dealer Simulator / Schedule I situation and its factual reasons, stage, and future.

What’s going on exactly?

Due to repeated opinions that Schedule I is very similar to DDS, we were obliged to request a legal analysis from an intellectual property specialist. It has indicated that there might have been an infringement by the Schedule I developers in relation to Drug Dealer Simulator.

Now we are obliged to follow up further, but we are yet to contact the Schedule I developers. Our goal at this point is discussing the situation with them and we have an open approach.

Is there a lawsuit?

No.

So why is everyone saying there’s a lawsuit?

Probably due to misinterpreting or overinterpreting an information which was originally in Polish.

What’s next?

Like we said, we need to start a conversation. It is not our intention to prevent TVGS from selling or developing their game.

Overall, our goal is to support all devs, but we need to consider our legal obligations if law specialists determine that there are grounds to claim infringement. We even contacted TVGS via email just before the release, when the game was already huge, and wished them all the best - but that was before that legal analysis. Back then no one expected it to be needed, not to mention that it would bring these results.

This is a very serious situation for us. We’re not a big corporation, but a relatively small indie publisher. There are other drug simulators out there with very positive scores and good sales. These are A-OK in regards to DDS according to lawyers.

What we know is we have to be very careful in all proceedings.

What’s the DDS developer’s - Byterunners - role in all this?

Absolutely none, and please don’t bring them into the conversation. They manage the game, not the IP (intellectual property). They don’t make any decisions in this matter.

I hope this clears things out. If you know gamers outraged by this situation who aren’t on this channel, please share this message with them.

Have a good day, and enjoy your favorite, and your second favorite, drug dealing games, whatever the order is for you. :)

They actually needed an legal investigation because if they did not have the matter investigated legally.....
Wrong again, they could have just played the game and then they would have known there's zero case, they didn't need any kind of official investigation. Stop eating up their utter lies, if any of what they have said was remotely true Mojang would have ''investigated'' every pixel art style survival builder on the market.

You can suck the corporate D all you like but the reason they did this is the same as every other greedy corporation that does it, they think they have a shot at injecting themselves into a more successful developer's revenue stream because they failed at creating it themselves.

That more or less says your age in a nutshell. People aren't "White knighting." they've been trying to explain things to you since day 1, but lack of understanding about the entire situation was the fault of everyone. However, the publisher said at like day 2 of the entire fiasco "No lawsuit." and it wasn't until recently that we got the entire story about it.

Are you this gullible? Consider that they never sued other devs of drug dealing Sims.

Nope, not this gullible, but if I am gullible, then you just think you're smarter than you actually are. This whole "I know how to read between the lines." idea is just seeing things your way because you want to be right. In the end though, it is just because you like one product over the other and if Tyler HAD been pushed, you probably would of known about it by now. Because when a developer is pushed by another, they let everyone know. Dark and darker? Myth of Empires? Those ring any bells at all?

Only works if you own/keep the game. Review system got altered years ago due to BL3 fiasco with Epic. People review bombed and forced steam to make a new policy. Your review stays in the system, but it doesn't count to the overall scoring unless you "Own" the game. It instead works in the "Recent" reviews, which dwindle out overtime and shift back into overall eventually.

You act like you can win something. There is nothing to be won you lost. Thats probably why you keep posting cause thats all you can do. They went after a solo dev because he did something they couldnt. They rest is noise fromyou white knights. But you lost and you know it thats so entertaining. Keep trying to insult thats all you have left. Lol

They actually needed an legal investigation because if they did not have the matter investigated legally, they could themselves be sued by their investors, which they already explained publicly. Spend less time hating and more time trying to understand.

Here's what they can do, do it... don't tell us, then whine about it lol

This statement is an affront to us all. If they "need to investigate" the. Do it and let it be done. We don't need to know they are Nintendo lol it was a mistake making thos public.

However the reality is they don't cuz nothing was ripped from them directly, the best case you might have is the look of grow tents. That's the only similar thing I see in both games. They clearly aren't carbon copies either.

Which would mean it's only Steam users who have skin in the game review bombing it as they own it and have played it, therefore they know it's not a copy of DDS and DDS2 so don't try to pretend the review bombing is illegitimate when people have to have bought the game to leave the review to begin with.
The publishers could have simply done the same, you know, actually play a game they publish for once and then play a competitors instead of jumping the gun because they think they have a chance at injecting themselves into another developers revenue stream because they couldn't get the same level of popularity for themselves..... and now they never will and have cast a very glaring shadow over any and all developers they're the publisher for. If Movie Games is involved with it, I'm not touching it.
