Very few things are more irritating than someone that feels the need to go to another games message boards preaching "Guys, this game is good, but this other game is so much better!"
Some numbers (All-time peak):
DDS2: 9K
Schedule: Over 115K
DDS2, lies, lies, lies, broken promises, more lies. Misleading descriptions, lazy devs (I bet that a single guy from Schedule will do much more in the first two months than the entire cash grabbing team).
Resources earned from DDS1 are split among different teams, Srarcos, casino, paid DLC for an unfinished game. What's even funnier? They have already announced that four paid DLCs will be coming! Can't you see that this isn’t a game but just a blatant cash grab? They don't care at all. It's like a bloated corporation: "We have X amount of time for development, and that’s it. However it turns out, it turns out. Those suckers will buy it anyway because we'll drown them in pseudo marketing and fill with lies."
That’s what they’re worth. I sincerely hope that games like Schedule will put them in their place.
And I almost forgot "FREE UPDATES" That’s probably the most infuriating part. Thank you, folks, for providing free updates for unfinished games. Holy moly! So many free updates? Who’s that? Santa? I'm the luckiest man alive! What a wise devs!
Because I wasted my money on it. As long as this broken product is alive, not fixed, or I don’t get a refund, I will be here. Get used to it.
It's not restaurant.
I will never understand those arguments saying something like "You can't critisize a game in its steam forums cause if you don't like it don't play it", things like that. It's because we loved DDS franchise at some point that we come in Steam Forums to express all our different dreams for the future of the franchise. I don't go on Steam forums on my favorite games to tell people who express their different visions or desires for the game and its future to go f off or try to humiliate them or making them look like brainless bots (not saying that you did all that but you are part of the people who have a problem with criticism on steam forums).
Why getting so pissed off about people critisizing things you like ? What you call a waste of time is feedbacks to them, you didn't like Schedule 1 for some reasons, tell them, i mean this is one of the main purpose of Steam game's forums. If i see somethings from DDS1 or even DDS2 which have things i like in it that i feel will be good addition to Schedule 1 i will tell it on Schedule's Steam forum. They are made for that. DDS and Schedule are on the exact same niche genre so of course users are going to tell 'em at some point "i was a big fan of your game at some point, didn't like the evolution, look at what they are doin, maybe its a better fit for the game". If one feeling is getting majority in the communnity you can be sure the studio we'll try to please the biggest amount of their users but if this feedback does not represent a majority then it will not. There is nothing complicate in all this. The problem is why people are getting mad at some comparaison or criticism when it's not their vision. Damn if i had to get mad at all people critisizing the things i like i would be pissed off all time.
Of course you can criticise the game. You can do it every single day for the rest of your live BUT it will change nothing. If you do not like the game now it will not change especially if it's 9 or 10 months after release. Core of the game will not change. I suspect that the devs already made 80 or even 90% of lifetime revenue on DDS2 (remaining 10 or 20% will be earned in next couple of years on sales etc). Most of the sales were already made and if you are disapointed IT WILL NOT CHANGE. Some things will be added in future updates but your overall opinion about the game will not change. If your opinion is that you've wasted your money then it will also not change. You won't get your money back. I've wasted thousands on games and if i would complain every single time about disapointing games I would not have time for anything else. I'm not complaining about Schedule 1 simply because it won't change a thing. For example I don't like cartoon like graphics of that game (I don't even know how to call that type of "style") or that you can wear cooking pot as a helmet or hat. Maybe I'm too old or it's just not my style. I could go there and complain but it would be waste of time. There rarely is a game where I have more than 100h of gameplay but somehow on DDS2 I've spent +200h. DDS2 is what it is and it will not change at least not to the point that you will be happy about it. If you like Schedule 1 than that's great. In fact that's the beauty of it. You always have a choice - you don't like one thing so do another. You can of course choose poorly but it will be your mistake not anyone else's.
