Have you checked this? I just killed him and I'm already far gone, and it's not easy to kill him, so did I miss a bunch of missions?

I killed the brother and haven't been able to interact with influencers in sangrenta and del mar.

I have played through both decisions. Granted some of them might bug out on you. But if it all goes according to plan, you will be able to set up in all regions, just a different way. The problem I had when choosing to kill Jean was that I had died previously to Jean(He is a tough mofo), so that bugged out the quest and Benita just didn't register anything after giving her the news. But it was done before the 1st patch even landed, so If it is fixed(might do a little testing on this again) feel free to choose what you like.

I'm informing Benita of her brother's death but she doesn't accept it. So I won't be able to strengthen myself in this area?
