Corrupted save. Need advice.
Electricity was cut while i was in the process of saving the game. Most .save files seems to be OK, but the main save file, CartelDefaults and FowTarget are filled with nulls. Backups are OK.
However the game doesnt detect these saves (the cartel). Is there some workaround to make the game "see" the backups?

Try this and let me know if it helps u:
(This is a quick DIY hotfix for the issue where your cartel files are available in the AppData location but you still don't see the cartel available in the load game UI)

1. Create a backup of your cartel folder (you can put the backup on your desktop for example) (Folder location: C:\Users[YourUsername]\AppData\Local\DrugDealerSimulator2\Saved\SaveGames\Cartels) - basically copy to the desktop the entire cartel folder that doesn't show up in the game.
2. Delete it from AppData. - delete the folder you just copied from the game files alltogether (delete it from here: C:\Users[YourUsername]\AppData\Local\DrugDealerSimulator2\Saved\SaveGames\Cartels), but keep the backup on the desktop.
3. Create a new cartel with the same exact name - the name has to be exactly the same, no differences in letters, spaces etc.
4. Alt + F4 out of the character selection menu - just to speed the process up.
5. Open the newly created cartel folder in the AppData - go to your game files again: C:\Users[YourUsername]\AppData\Local\DrugDealerSimulator2\Saved\SaveGames\Cartels, and open the folder for the cartel you just created.
6. Paste the backup files into that folder - paste all of the backup files from the backup folder to the newly created folder (paste all files, not the folder itself).
7. Load your cartel - if normal load doesn't work, select one of the backup save files from the drop down menu.

If the solution doesn't work for you, please read it one more time and try following it step by step once again (you could also turn off steam cloud for DDS2 just for the time being).

Important note: When on step 6, if you are asked if you want to overwrite CartelDefaults.sav file (that happens if your backup cartel folder has this file), don't do it - you do not want to paste the backup CartelDefaults.sav file as it is the file that bugs the save, you want to keep the new version of it.

Unfortunately it doesnt work.
Did all the steps.
But upon loading the new game sequence starts (music, credits, boat travel). But I have the character selection strip at the bottom, that only vecomes active upon disembarking from the boat. Tried loading from different backup saves.

Found the reaseon - _Progress.save is also corrupted and without it the game starts from the beginning.
Unfortunate.
Oh well...

Thanks Alyss!

It worked! What i found out is really important for it to work is that:
- Make sure the game is in the main menu when you perform step 2 otherwise a backup will be automaticly put back when you launch the game at step 4.
- The important note is indeed really important: Only use the fresh version of CartelDefaults.sav ! Do not copy it from your backup as it will break again.

Now let's hope i dont get another Fatal Error during auto-save.
it dont work , tryed it few time, just dont work all it

Upd. The only thing that comes to mind that the fault of the laboratory equipment T3 / T4, because BEFORE the installation of equipment nothing similar for 6 hours did not happen, but after the equipment is installed .....

Yes, unfortunately all of the above methods did not help. Started again, I will try to somehow reproduce the order of actions after which I have an error. Made a backup of the save and initial preparations. For 4 hours only one fatal error, but without resetting the save. The story missions have not yet passed at all. Still trying to figure out what causes the error :)
