Look man we appreciate you guys for trying but I have to agree that most of the changes from DDS1 to 2 were negative. Just for me personally the original system of actually working with the product was a lot of the pull for me, and replacing that with poorly explained menus just wasn't it g. I was also really in it for the environment and the vibe which are also totally different. I wish you the best in your future endeavors but I'm going to have to pass.
If you are patient enough to wait for problems to be fixed while you play the game, then I recommend buying it.
I agree. DDS 1 was way better. I was super disappointed when DDS2 BECAME OPEN WORLD! now it totally sucks! I hate the vast distance I have to travel to sell my drugs. I just wanna go out my hideout and sell immediately...
In a lot of ways it just feels like an early access game.
- No wholesale. Mostly small drug trades (under 10 gram per trade). No major exchange like you see in movies and where you might get ripped or getting to rip off other dealers.
- No automation of drugs crafting. You have to manually set the queues for everything.
- Buslines not connecting on the same island
- No driveable vehicles apart from boats which are mostly useless
- Most drugs cannot be mixed. Only coke and amp can get mixed and it makes no sense (there is no penalty/benefit like in DDS1 where people could overdose or get addicted or complain about the quality)
- Wanted status basically never going away because there is always something that triggers it. Meaning that you get raided daily and everyone bothers you. There is no mechanic that reduces your visibility/wanted status like in DDS1
- Raids being poorly implemented in how they trigger.
- Lacking mechanics like bribing cops for an area so they stop bothering you constantly. Similar for thugs.
The big pros are 1. Coop 2. Open world 3. Dealers & distributors which can take over a lot of the orders/clients. 4. Having some combat, even if it is poorly implemented.
Mechanics wise I think DDS1 was a lot better for production and also the drug dealing aspect itself.
This game is disappointing as a successor. It's been released in a questionable technical state but full price.
Given that fact they already had a great game to build on, it's disappointing.
The constant excuses make it really difficult to acknowledge the developers.
Building a fancy new Caribbean world is nice but with only 5 people it's a game of resources. That's what you see in every corner of the game.
Let's enjoy the island while going by bus... Oh wait there's just a progress bar filling up
After having loved the 1st part as much as I have, yeah, I 100% agree with the fact that DDS2 is extremely disappointing. It has a few fun aspects to it, but it's buried underneath an ocean of issues & bad optimization.
Still remember getting pissed off with the dev team at release because they were giving us selfies with some backstory of their irl life instead of focusing on fixing the game right away. lmao
Technically you can put eight customers on the first Islands dealer it just slows him down a little but it still works I don't even have to go over there anymore unless I'm dropping off drugs
