Driver contract salaries???
One thing I cant seem to come to grips with in this game is re-negotiating or hiring a new contract.

I understand the mechanics well enough but it seems like the drivers want exorbitant amounts of money!

I offered Alonso who was already on my team some 15,000,000 for a single season and he thought that was not enough??? He was ranked 5th over all after the first season.

What kind of amounts are you guys seeing? Is there any way to see what the driver expects other than keep upping it offer after offer till they run out of patience?

I'd mainly just like some feedback when I propose a contract other than some red amber green indicators.

I signed Russell after a few seasons, I forgot how much he was on but something small and I had to pay 18 million to sign him. Though previously I had Albon on 6 million plus a 600k bonus per race which worked out about the same per year but Albon sucks

I signed Piastri and Doohan on 5 year contracts of 450k a year start of game.
Gave me a healthy profit to build my facilities up. I wonder what they want when its time to renegotiate. But still have them tied down for 2 seasons for that bargain price.

Yea I had signed Piastra and Doohan for the 'bargain' price in one play through.

Thing is they tore up so many car parts forcing 'emergency' manufacturers it probably would have been better to spend more up front for less crash prone drivers.

I kept hoping they would get better with assigning points and all but it never really worked out.

There is a downward pointing arrow next to the colored indicators. If you hover over that it will give you slightly more feed back. As an example "That's too long I plan on retiring soon" when offering a 3 year contract. (Paraphrasing)

Some drivers start off at a high salary, and then it seems like the expectation is to continue paying/demanding that high salary. This is specifically true for Bottas. Alonso on the other hand, totally deserves the salary he asks.

I have also noticed that they while they go "low" on patience, I don't seem to hit the end where they say "ok. no more talks with you. bye!". Haven't tested this with the new patches, as my current drivers are lined up for 5 years.

Also, if you want an idea of how high they are asking, look at other drivers at around the same rating. There are some exceptions (Bottas) but you'll get the rough ballpark.

They were alittle crazy in the beginning. But I put every point each level up in the 4 things that affect crashing, spinning and running wide.
Cornering, braking, accuracy and control. They now have 87-88 in all four and rarely crash.
I will keep adding to these 4 until they have about 93-94 and then start putting points in other things.

Now in season 3 with Williams I think I might take the constructors championship. Half way through the season and I'm 100 points ahead of RB. Still leading the drivers championship too. But Verstappen has really gotten some incredible pace on his car the last few races.

Did the same thing. Had to let them go after 5 years in order to do my "female drivers only challenge".
AI Williams signed them both for over 36mil a season (combined), and currently in midseason they're 5th in constructors ranking.
