Will Denuvo protection ever be removed?
As per subject, I refuse to buy games using Denuvo, are there any plans to remove it in the future?

That's super helpful, but I'll wait to see if the devs respond first ;)

Denuvo is a DRM which needs a recurrent online connection but not a constant one so you can play offline for a while. However, the duration of the offline token is at the liberty of the publisher and is never disclosed. If you trigger Denuvo for any reason, it locks you out of the game for 24 hours at which point you need to go back online to re-validate.

Since a video is worth a thousand words, you can see it happening right here: Can't play MH:Rise because of DRM (live in front of 60k viewers)[clips.twitch.tv]
Also if Denuvo servers are down on their side, games without a valid activation token will not start, online or not: https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/a-great-day-for-drm-as-denuvo-lapse-renders-tons-of-games-temporarily-unplayable/

People recently reported that it seems to trigger a 24 hour lockout if you play games on desktop computer and switch to the Steam Deck: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1687950/discussions/0/3489752656786031116/?ctp=2#c3489752656790504351

A few developers also came on record citing performance issues for refusing to use it: https://www.pcgamer.com/humankind-drops-denuvo-ahead-of-launch-to-avoid-performance-problems/.

Intrusive DRM provides no benefit for any customer and causes problems for some. It will always get cracked eventually, so all it does it delay the inevitable.

I'd love to buy this game, but I will not support publishers who punish the people who pay for their products.
