Really, fired after 10 titles?
So the year is 2030, going into 2031.
I won 5 constructor titles and 5 driver titles in a row. so the board expect me to be champ in 2031.
For some reason, i must have missed a rule change or whatever. im struggling in 2031 to get into Q3, since all the buildings are maxed out i keep making upgrades and end the season as 3rd in constructors. i was pretty happy after the ♥♥♥♥ start of the season.
BUT THEY FIRED ME! you cannot change team, it is game over.
redo 5 last races or redo the season, which wouldn't change the outcome.
WTF!!
Anyway, my question, can someone think of something i missed why my car was so freaking slow out of the blue? i was managing Mclaren with Ferrari powertrains.
Researched all the parts like i did all the seasons before, which helped me go to the top, and stay there....until 2031.

Totally agree. If you win a champioship, the board expects that you win always. You will be fired if you miss the first place.

i presume you researched when you didn't need to, that the rule change was minor and you fell behind in development. When did you start on research? I only start research early if there are big changes. Also the level of your parts limits your improvements. i'd bet the last year car was at 60/70% expertise level, and so ai overtook you on development speed compared to you on research speed. That is my guess

i useally develop 3 times the same part per season, and research every part once, at the end of the season. since i was ahead, i didnt think i require much research. yet my car fell behind a lot.

This.
I just started my new season (2027) - 2024 to 2026 (both championships) so far.
I was rank 1 in almost all overall car performance sections at the start of 2026, rank 1 in all subcriterias of front wing, rear wing and underfloor. 2026 to 2027 rule change was an overhaul. 55% hit in each criteria of every part. 65% in each criteria of underfloor.
When research opened, I decided to research only and forget designs for this year. Even with max WT and CFD hours all focused on underfloor, i was still not able to overcome the deficit.
I did have 3 other slots of research available, so I kept researching front/rear wings and sidepods as much as possible as fast as possible.

This new season, thankfully that paid off. So far, i am still ranked 1 in all car performance, and underfloor/frontwing/sidepods. I need to increase performance in other parts.

Bottom line -- you need to make sure you are researching and regaining all your lost expertise back quickly.

That being said, fired after not coming first for 1 season after 5 years of domination. Yikes. Now that I think about it, i think that is going to happen. The board confidence seems to be built to only focus on performance of last few races/months. If you are not winning, they are disappointed. Yeah, that's a flaw in the game design. But it isn't supposed to be perfect.

IN F1 manager. Toto Wolf would have got sacked this year.
And, Christian Horner would have got the sack in 2014.
And, every Ferrari boss every year.
It's a shame they've been so harsh with it. It would be nice if you could just turn it off. Which, makes even more sense without the ability to move teams.

Or have an option to demand a massive pay out and create your own team ;) (hope you're listeneing devs)

This is one of the bigger issues I have with the game. Allow us to swap teams to avoid this type of scenario occuring. I've gone from the 4th best car on the grid constantly meeting performance targets and exceeding by a long way my financial targets to 9th car on the grid in one season. Now I'm playing catch up all year for my job survival. Should be some goodwill credit of previous seasons performances and growth, at least for a year or two. If not, allow me the ability to swap teams for career longevity.

in my 4th season I have Aston Martin very competitive, not looking forward to winning a championship then getting fired a year later for finishing second....

Yes.. absolute Gamebreaker. Especially with no ability to go to say Williams and repeat the adventure.

Nice one...

ridiculous frontier not allowing us to swap teams in a MANAGER GAME...
this game is missing very important parts to be called a MANAGER GAME (the driver/staff contracts for next season is another example).
im out of this until they ll fix it...
if not i ve just wasted the money and my 20+years old of wait for a GREAT F1 MANAGER GAME are totally disappointed!

Thanks mate, i pay more attention instead of doing the samish thingy every season. Loving my time at Williams now, amazing how quickly Latifi found another team after i sacked him. xD

I do agree this does need to be tweaked in the game, nothing worse than putting in over a hundred hours in a career only to have one bad season and get sacked AND it ends the game. I don't know why you can't just change teams or get hired by another team. I hope this is in a future update. You go to another team and hire back all your old technical staff...which does happen in F1.
