Also if you been keeping up with a much faster car by been in their DRS and pushing to keep up then if they pit and you lose the DRS even pushing will be tough to overcut them.
i wouldnt say that undercuts are op. AI likes to pit on hards at 60% or get down on their softs to 15-20%. both are rlly bad. i wouldnt bother undercutting a crappy AI strat. just plan your quickest strat before the race and simply pull through.
so yeah im overcutting all the time. i start on tyre mode 5 and the go down to 3 or 4 cause i got a gap of 5+ seconds in 2-3 laps and im still gaining even on mode 3. usually i overcut by 5-7 laps. aston martin S2, so no i didnt start on a banger team. AI just sucks at researching properly as well :)
Once the opponent leaves the pit, keep an eye on that interval between you and him. Did you get enough while he was stopped? Is it falling once he gets back on the track? If you are stuck behind others in a pack, you're not going to increase your interval from your rival. If your car is relying on DRS to keep up with your rival, you're probably not going to increase the interval from your rival. If you were already pushing to keep up with your rival, you are probably not going to increase the interval from your rival.
