It's the timings themselves.
I've noticed this quite a few times.
The timings tell me a car is 1.2 seconds behind me but when i actually look behind the car they're right there and not 1,2 second behind.
Ive had it where it tells me i'm over 1 second behind a car while i'm clearly not.
When looking at the car itself it seems to activate the DRS at the right moment and distances behind other cars.
It's an annoying bug.
But yeah, the time gaps are sometimes very wrong, or the GFX is. Where you can be right up someones rear spoiler and it claims to be 1.6s behind. Not sure if the graphics is wrong or the gap timing is.
Also there's common visual bug where the wing doesn't seem to open. However the UI on the driver card always works. If the DRS icon on the UI is lit, then the driver is activating their DRS.
Yes, the car is easily within 1 second, sometimes it happens when the car is literally within a car length of the car in front. They cross the detection line, and then when they reach the activation zone, DRS does not activate. Whether the timing board says so, or not.
