Pirelli stole my 100% tyres again
And left my used softs. Also letting AIso do one or all of the practice sessions by AI consume most of softs. Not fully but leaving them on 76 to 87% and pirelli leave them to take one or more 100% tyres. Am I alone in this?

Pirelli takes 2 softs in training 1 and then 1 soft each following training seasson. in order from left to right. it doesn't matter if you use them or not, they get taken, its the rules.
also 1 set is reserved for Q3 and can only be accessed when you get in Q3.

aha, thanx. Just use them in right order then, got it. I use to have Hard for P1 but I might change that then.

Could you clarify how this works? I'm always confused by the tire allotments.

So, if I understand correctly, by the time you get to qualifying, you've already lost the first 4 softs in your queue, whether you've used them or not. Why would you ever choose to use other than one of those 4 in practice?

To do long and medium runs to get to 100% track knowledge, although i do admit it feels like a half baked thing to mimic these runs from reality to see tire degradation from where they calculate their tactic/pit/compounts, something that isn't really well done in the game..

Yet the tire rule is in the game thus we get them, even though you could do without those runs in the game.

OK, that's clear. Pirelli takes back TWO MOST USED SETS, but if you use mediums only, or hards, one soft will be taken anyway.
So we have most optimal scheme for dry practices:
P1 -> one soft + one hard (or medium)
P2 -> one soft + one medium (or hard)
P3 -> one soft + one medium
If you want to use mediums twice in the race, than
P3 -> one soft + one soft
There is the bug: if you have used wet tyres during practice, Pirelli takes back two softs. So you can run one other dry set (meduim or hard) for having it used too.

I just tried this now and it feels avkward. My whole first season I always used hard for all P1 to get most of praktice for my driver3 and track knowledge. Now I know what pirelli do and I really want the game to not stear me so much. Im the principal and I ought to make these choices. So pls implement at least setup choice that pirelli remove my used ones.

I'm going with this scheme every time and my drivers do get 100% track knowledge easily:

P1 => Soft + Soft
P2 => Medium + Soft
P3 => Hard + Soft

And I choose the leftmost tyre of a type.

"Pirelli stole my 100% tyres again"

In the free market a 100% soft pirelli worths lots of money. ;)

Thats what I do too, sometime I switch up P2 and P3 where I use one soft and one hard in P2 and do the medium in P3.
But I always use 4 softs, 1 medium and 1 Hard over the 3 practice sessions.

Fun fact: This is the result of Covid19 which trigger rules changes to minimize logistic strain for a race weekend.

The rule is simple: You get allotment of 13 dry tires during a race weekend (+ fixed allotment of wet tires). After each practice session, you MUST return 2 dry tires to Pirelli. The game is clever enough to return the tires most worn first (contrary to what other said, you can used a soft in rightmost first and it will still returned if it one of the 2 most used tire in the session). If you only used 1 tire or using the wet tires because the session has rain, you still need to return 2 dry tires and by default the Softs will be returned because you have more of them.

What Covid19 changed, is every team now has fixed allotment of tires. Pre 2019, every team can freely allocate how many Softs, Medium, or Hard tires to compose the 13 dry tires. However doing it this way makes the logistic more complex since Pirelli need to wait for all the teams to sent their allotment request before shipping the tires to the event and often results in excess of unused F1 tires in the factory (that mostly just going to be thrown away with some recycle process) because tires can't be manufactured instantly and they need a buffer for the stock. This is why in MM you can select the tires allotment since it was made with pre 2019 rules.

But.. why are the tires that are returned to Pirreli , not made available on race day? in real F1 if u crash in FP1 and only use one set of tires .. on race day u have that tire available.... or if u missed a session ....Don't you?

No, otherwise teams could skip sessions to have extra tyres for the race
