This game has a long way to go to catch up.
And I have absolutely no idea where you would expect anything more than was advertised.
Hoped for a good simulation of races and team progression, but the game delivers none of these. Lazy arcade game with fancy graphics.
Maybe correct representation of motorsport basics? In Footbal manager if I decide team will play on counterstrikes, or on tiki-taka, team play counterstrikes or tiki-taka. In that "manager" I have identic lap times in disregard of setup, driving style, agression, fuel consuption or tire wear.
It's a poor lazy rip off of a mobile game (Motorsport Manager) and priced 3x as much because they have the official F1 license.
Funny how they have so much to say and tell people who may just have a better idea than they do "how to suck eggs" but equally lack the humility to admit they were wrong or stick around after.
The moment i read "frontier" i knew this wasn't going to be a MANAGEMENT game.
You can patch out bugs. But a patch wont change the entire gamedesign.
They have made some design decisions here that wont be fixed in a patch. Like that car setup does nothing to the car, only gives drivers skillbonuses.
Like sports interactive often had said. This is not something we can do with a patch. But will consider it for next years game.
I'm sorry but what? I am struggling to understand your post. I actually own FM and have done for several years. There is no way a Motorsport game can be as detailed as FM because we only have 10 teams, where as FM has 10,000+ teams.
As for complexity of "setup" vs "tactics", again there is 11 people to manage in FM. F1 has two.
Oh for sure I agree on design improvements for future versions. But lets be real here, this is the first version of a new franchise. Its going to be implemented in basics standards to make the title "work".
That is actually not true at all.
This is the one that had THE MOST dev time ... this is a title that will drop every year now .... look at F1 sim, COD, FIFA, Madden - titles that are annual - this means you only truly have the big jump every 4-5 years.
This was the one where they had ALL THE TIME they wished to take - there was no rush here they didn't even make it for the Season start or any milestone - they launched the Sunday of the summer break return - not exactly a pinnacle.
So respectfully this statement is very naive and implies that the first game has to be the "raw basics" and I am sorry there are FAR too many examples that proves otherwise.
