You get juice from killing enemies which you can then spend on upgrades to your stats at certain locations, like how you get souls from enemies which you then spend on upgrades at a bonfire.

Well, it’s got a stamina mechanic (for flight), manual stat allocation, the checkpoint system, vague quest lines, and unique loot placements (I think?). I think it’s silly to call it a soulslike but those are probably the reasons.
