I for one would just like the rate of XP gain to be just a bit higher- as of now, it's more like grinding to unlock that next weapon.

I'd also prefer that the default loadouts (particularly on the Infiltrator, Technician, Soldier, and Sentinel) be a bit more viable and not so ludicrously outshined the crap out of by other weapons.

Don't buy gold or pay for any thing. I got burned some how i bought the same item twice, and customer support is giving me the run around about refunding a small amount of gold that they aren't lossing money on. It's still bound to the game. They pull the copy paste jobs on every ticket. I doubt any one has recieved any real help from them. Just play and enjoy the game. Skins make you stand out as target by the way. Sad part is EA has better customer support then HiRez

You pay for cosmetics. You can totally unlock anything you want with XP collecting. I paid $10 for 800 gold 9 months ago that's it. I have everything. 100%.

In order for the game to continue being free to play, there has to be certain unlocks which are gold only. Another thing to note is that you can get 250 free gold through the Tribes:Ascend facebook page.

If you find that you are enjoying the game a lot, I'd highly recommend getting the Steam starter pack when it is on sale. The weapons which come with it are all very good, and the gold and VIP status which come with it will help accrue XP faster, and the gold can be used to purchase deals of the day that strike your fancy.

On a different note, if you play regularly, get a 90 day booster. I purchased one at the beginning of the summer, and by the time I had 21 days left on the booster, I had unlocked all weapons and perks. By the end of it, I had enough xp to unlock update items for the next few patches.

You can unlock everything without paying. Alternatively, I recommend getting the smallest amount of gold you can, get an XP booster, and by the end of the week that should last you, you'll have XP for everything you want to have for your favorite class. Even after the booster is gone, you'll have permanent VIP status, which means a permanent +50% XP boost. It's worth getting gold just once, for that.

Save up for as long as it takes you to get the 7 GBP necessary for the smallest amount of gold, then enjoy a permanent 50% XP boost for the rest of your Tribes career.
Enjoy the game, invest in its future, even if it's just a tiny amount.
Support the developers and you'll appreciate the game even more. At least it's not like most f2p games (*cough*World of tanks*cough*) that require you to buy more and more gold to maintain your bonus XP in order to do nothing but pay maintenance costs.

lol game is a joke even the older tribes make this game look retarded ps2 version is way better plus the downloadable one on pc is even better no p2w bs from a trash game dev who just wants to milk the game which will be dead in a few more years
