It is almost certainly in conflict with another software program running on your computer. I would uninstall the the game, restart the computer, then install the game, restart the computer, and then try to run the game with your task manager open; look for unusual processes running.

So, I did what you said, and after I pressed Play, in Task Manager it said, "Microsoft .NET Error Reporting Shim (32 bit)" and then of course Steam, nothing more.

In your library, right click on Tribes, select Properties. Uncheck Enable Steam Community in game. Restart steam and try launching it again. This happened to be after an update a while back.

It says the same as before, but instead of just flashing on the screen, it stays for about 5 secs.

I figured out how to fix it. I downloaded the game through steam, installed the Hi-Rez BS, THEN, I closed the launcher, went to my steam apps folder (D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common) and I CUT the tribes folder from there, and pasted it in D:\Hi-Rez Studios. After this, I re-opened the launcher, went to the settings, then clicked the trouble shooting button. This brought up the section with the "default Hi-Rez games directory" which was set to my C: drive for some stupid reason, and I changed it to D:\Hi-Rez Studios

Game updates and runs fine now.

what i did is i went to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Tribes\Binaries\Redist then unistalled "InstallHirezService" then installed it again, after that i launched tribes and let it update then it worked. hope this helps

This is BS, cant they just make a program that runs off the bat, as a game should. Rather than have to go into all these directories and move stuff about?
