Can't launch the game

I finally fished the download of the game after 2 day but the game won't start "Tribe ascend is downloading" but I already done the download the the uptade too , please help me I don't want to delete that game after 2 day of downloading

Here's a big bunch of fixes that work for all kinds of problems which you might encounter after solving the problem in-case something goes further wrong.

All of these fixes are good for fixing the "waiting for download" ( since they all more or less require reinstalling the game ). Though the one here with the 5 steps is the most effective and easiest way of doing it.

0) Uninstall non-Steam T:A (you may want to delete manually all remaining files ; killing a Hirez-related Windows service will be necessary. Windows will tell you)
1) Go to \Steam\SteamApps\common\tribes\Binaries\Redist
2) Launch InstallHirezService.exe
2') (If it displays something about updating, agree and launch it again.)
3) If it displays something about uninstalling something, agree.
4) Launch Tribes Ascend from your library.
5) Prerequisites install properly, game starts.


On the other hand, if that fix doesn't work for you, here's some more info of the problem you might be having and a few options on how to tackle it. ( The methods below fix most of the problems related to getting the game to launch )



Waiting for download is an old problem which was caused by multiple installations of Tribes, if you've gotten Tribes through Steam, you might also have had the non-Steam Tribes installed through the launcher. There are two solutions to this problem.

First one, if you're hoping to use Tribes through Steam, is to delete some of your Tribes files from the Steam directory, and then search and delete all Tribes files which are not in the Steam directory. Then do a cache verification on Tribes through Steam. If succesfull, you will have a clean installation of the Steam Tribes only.

The second option is to delete all files of Tribes, non-Steam and Steam, and then download the Hi-Rez launcher from the main website at.

Also, last but not least, if by any chance you don't have much space on your computer, the update patches you have to download are a few Gigs big, so make sure you have enough space to download them.

If all else fails, click on the Troubleshooting and Diagnostics button ( Found by clicking the little gearwheel in the top right corner ) and look at where the game is being installed, sometimes it might be trying to install Tribes into a directory which doesn't exist on your computer.
