Getting IP or what ever its called takes a long long time, investing in the game does help you unlock a load of stuff.
But you still need to keep in mind that:
The player base is dramaticly dropping and the bugs are getting worse after each update.
But in the end its your choice.
It's a huge shame because this game was actually awesome until the pay-to-win things were introduced immediately before they put it on the shelf.
Money is not necessary at all, it just lets you unlock quicker or get some weapons that are cash only and better than their original counterparts.
There is no singleplayer. Only Tribes: Vengeance had a single player campaign which left on a cliffhanger shortly before Sierra/Vivendi/etc violently cut the cord before shutting down. Even the first patch was canceled and it was ready to be deployed.
It seems history repeats constantly with this IP as Tribes is yet again dying slowly and painfully. All it needed was love.
There are NO weapons that are cash only! The only thing that's cash only are skins and voice packs!
There is few to no p2w in this game, as there are hardly any wepons that are just better than others, everything has it's drawbacks.
Earning currency doesn't take too much time and all the equipment costs only 25 % of what it used to cost at launch.
Game can't get worse with every update as there are no updates anymore.
The playerbase is NOT dramatically dropping, there are always enough people to play with, at least in EU.
Tyrannosaurus, if you have no idea or stopped playing long ago don't tell people stuff that's not true.
Hi-rez ditched the game lolol
it discourages the need for landing MAs, you cant name your game Tribes and discourage MAs...now if it were named something new and nobody was caught up on the name Tribes it would probably be lliked by alot more people, but to name this game Tribes just feels like an insult
Sorry, Zweis†ein, I wish I could give you an answer but I too came here looking to ask the same question.
