Screen shaking when moving head
When running in SteamVR any movement made with my head makes the screen shake/jitter. I don't know how else to describe it. I'm using a Quest 3 with a link cable. I've tried setting the Meta plugin compatibility to all 3 settings in SteamVR which also made no difference. Tried defaulting and tweaking all my Oculus Debug Tool settings as well. Nothing. I'm out of ideas here.

i have the exact same issue with the same setup. quest 3 and a link cable. its not an performance issue because as soon as you hit pause by entering the steam overlay you can see in the background perfectly smooth head movement.

Unplayable on Quest 3 – the image is shaking.
At the moment, it’s impossible to play the game on Quest 3 via Steam Link or Virtual Desktop because the image shakes constantly. Imagine you're extremely cold, and there's a persistent micro-shaking—it's very uncomfortable. For now, it's a 0 out of 10. Waiting for a fix.

At first I didn't get what all this "screen shaking when moving head" talk was.

But I just tried playing the game through Air Link, and I experienced the screen shaking.

However, it doesn't happen (to me) when playing through SteamLink or Virtual Desktop.

It's probably just air link issue for you. I think This is an open Xr issue. I don't expect this to be fixed at all by the devs.

There is an option in the menu related to screen shaking. Have you checked it?

Same problem, while using air link and forcing steamvr mode, the game jitters (unplayable).

While using virtual desktop and playing the game in steamvr mode, it works great.

I would rather use air link for the better image quality and latency and need to use steamvr because the vr view has increased fov for recordings.

It is not the same, this is clearly a bug its unplayably jittery, I have that setting disabled.

Yess its a bug from air link and steamvr when using openxr

I was able to fix it by making Meta the active OpenXR Runtime in the settings of the app and then launching the game through steam and selecting Meta XR. Try it for yourself. However, It won't run the game through the Link menu for some reason and it forces me to select the Meta XR in steam to get it open, also now my controllers have disappeared and I can't do anything in the menu. Lovely game.

I've had this issue when using OpenXR Toolkit. Disabling it for this game only removed the head movement stutters. Same for Metro btw, if it's relevant for anyone.

Same issue when using pico 4 with pico connect. I experienced it also in the beta for the pirate jolly vr game, but they fixed it with a patch. Not using openxr toolkit and even with all settings on low and having a stable 90 fps it still happens. Not happening in other vr games i have atm.

Sounds like the "classic" openXR tool kit incompatibility. The games runs in openXR, so if you use the toolit, it kicks in and causes that sluggish head tracking/jitter. I had this also at the first launch of the game, but after deactivating it, everything is fine.

i uninstalled the openxr tool kit and still the same, it only happens in this game and tried everything except trying virtual desktop instead of steamvr.
