What am I missing
Are bows completely terrible or what? They seem to do much less damage than melee and magic, miss more often than both, and on top of that if you have lower agility than your opponent you just don't get to attack, a single time, the entire fight.

I had a piss easy time playing warrior(too boring to keep playing), and an decent time on mage(hitting for a trillion damage but missing a lot), but barely beat the youtube content creator boss (which, by the way, bruh) and hit a wall at the next regional champ when it got down to playing with my favorite style :/ am I missing something or is ranged just unusable?

early game you play mostly melee (while still leveling up bow mastery), then transition in to range in mid game. Early range is impossible to play.
also, spend stats equally early on.

Alright thank you, I will try this, Hopefully ranged gets improved in the early game in future updates :)

"By the way, bruh" - Charlie "MoistCritikal" White has been a massive supporter of the series and I was honoured to have him and his vocal talents in the game. Wouldn't be where I am without his help.

Bows are pretty powerful now with the new bow talents, at the cost of some defence - but like Mihan said, they're a bit like wizards, early on you may have a tough time. Warriors start off easy and get more difficult. So there's a lot to think on!

Good luck!

Oh wow, a dev response, thank you!
I will admit I was kinda tilted when I made the post after failing a second attempt at making a rogue character, I will hold faith that the difficulty will even out as I pick up enchanted gear (currently being raw dogged by wolfgang's chad son)

Critikal is a great guy and I watch his content, I just don't feel like the very first boss of the game was an appropriate placement for him, maybe leave him in there as an easter egg champion somewhere for people to find rather than essentially a tutorial boss, just a random gamers opinion (also u gotta understand what its like to lose to a boss who shouts thou art stinky at you as a killing blow, the mental damage, the toll that takes on a man, I was tilted when I bruhed his appearance)

Apologies if I came off as negative, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ loved swords and sandals 2+3 as a kid and love the skills/traits system in this one, I'm looking forward to future updates :)

To be honest, I totally get where you're coming from - it is a bit 'cringe' to have a YouTuber as the first boss and I sort of debated whether to do it, but since the character design was kind of memorable and 'silly' it sort of fit well, same as the old Fearful Prisoner nonsense from the early games. I kind of loved the idea of him being called Huge Charles and being kind of diminutive too, so I thought yeah lets go with that.

Thanks so much for the kind words and for being a fan of the series too mate - great to have you aboard!

Im using a ranger rogue build in MP right now. AGI needs to at least be at a minimum of 10-15 WITH the Theatrics perk which gives 100% movement bonus with 5 skill points into it as well as a sacrifice of 10% health for another 25% move speed in weight in character creation. In those ranges of AGI you should be able to jump and keep distance away. I personally am running STR:30 AGI:20 INT:1 VIT:30 ATT:75 DEF:1 STA:19 CHA:1 Thats before armor bonuses, with racial and class bonuses put into it. Racial bonus is +2 Vit and Rogue class bonuses. With the new bow skills, Movement ranged Bow builds might be the strongest "might" being the key word here, I've only ever had troubles with priests and bards even then with lighting enchantment and the Lighting skill most of the problems against priests and bards disappear. If your a warrior and don't have Ghost strike or a way to pin the ranger down you can go against people 20+ levels above you and still win. (which is great that Oliver ended up making skills cost less stars almost ensuring that people SHOULD have an answer for it)

THANK YOU, I didn't even notice the acrobatics skill, that's a game changer. Might I also ask if two handed weapon mastery works on bows, or only melee?

As soon as Oliver ended up putting in the bow skills, I started theory crafting on builds. So i went through a lot of thoughts. If your doing any ranged build acrobatics is 100% needed unless you are doing high AGI but high AGI is only useful if your going against another Ranger. On top of that if you have +50 (from armour enchants) into Def almost no point in over 30 AGI. I've been testing with it but going against constantly different bots with different VIT, DEF, and AGI, I haven't been able to get conclusive results (as its a 2% hit bonus on each lvl of it) but i would ASSUME that it would work on bows. As it doesn't specify melee only, but two handed weapons which bows are. Sadly also in a pure ranger build you need to put points (i think its specifically 2 or 3) into something else that doesn't help the build at all in warfare to get the best perks for the bow (the consecutive hits plus crit chance under 25% health) I've just added those extra perk points into "Combat ready" i believe it is called. Lowers roll chance, although I'm not sure if that works in MP at all.

Archer was nerfed hard several times, at this point don't bother, or do so at your own risk

Archer still works well, better so now then before. Especially with the simplicity update for AGI range damage, and the abilities that come for the bow

It's pretty garbage outside of late game oneshotting with Heart of Fear, which doesn't even work in singleplayer since the late game bosses have tons of hp

To be fair, Yo, you play the game on ridiculous difficulty levels so your comments should always be taken with a grain of salt for regular gladiators on regular difficulties.

You can win with literally everything on Normal, so in that case the choice of class is irrelevant. Thus my comments always refer to highest difficulties. Perhaps i should have said that in my original comment.

I have barely touched Campaign since pvp went live, just about everything I reference tends to be in a pvp context
