No save when game crashes?!?!
Hi,

Just played the "Rogues" mission, pretty sure I'm RIGHT AT THE END ("someone" jumps out) and the game crashes, and now I have to replay the WHOLE mission?!

Come on, it's 2025, you should be having checkpoint saving as default in case this happens.

Without at minimum a checkpoint save, this game is a thumbs down.

I honestly don't understand why games companies today think "preventing saving" is actually a "gameplay feature". Please fix, as it's otherwise a really good game and can go far.

Checkpoints are planned but low priority right now. If you believe you’re in a position to win a level before crashing, I suggest replaying and pressing the “skip level” button in the menu.

btw, are you playing this level in the tester branch? (available in full game purchase)

I am playing in tester yes, since it seems the main branch is a bit old.

I get that tester means "crashable", but that's beside the point when there's autosaves / checkpoints.

I'll do the skip mission thanks, since I'm pretty sure it was a the end of the mission, though I cannot say for certain.
I'll remind the devs to fix that crash then

Agh sorry about the crash. If you're on the tester version that issue on Rogues has been fixed (so I hope), if you are on live then I'm sorry you'll have to wait a bit longer before we can push our next huge update with crash resolutions and bug fixes.

Also regarding saves. Sadly the year being 2025 does not help me as the sole programmer of the game make a reliable, functional, and comprehensive in-mission save system. That's a rather complicated tech issue. I regrettably do not have access to the source code of all games that have come before ATS, nor would their save systems necessarily be compatible without our game state.
