Gunner, HEAT, PC!

GHPC running RTX3080 at up to 85C...
This is... excessive... and has been an issue since even before the June Steam demo build. I have tried running 1920x1080 fullscreen V-synced (with 60fps cap), FS window V-synced with same cap, FS unsynced at 60fps, FS window at 60fps. All settings still run the video card at upwards of 85C. I know this is a Unity Engine issue, not GHPC... but there are other games in Unity that the developers implemented a check to ensure that the video card is not stressed to the point where a 80-85C heat level is the average. No other game runs my video card this hot... heck even Cyberpunk 2077 on max detail peaks at 70-72C.

I like the game and if it lives up to potential as outlined in the roadmap I think this could be one of the great tanker games. However, until this issue is resolved, I think I may have to shelf it.

Anyone else noting high fan speeds/high heat levels?

Spikes temps on my 3080Ti also. Yes, I have noticed it with a few other Unity games as well as games like World of Warships, but only in the menus/port.

Why dont you guys use gpu firmware to set the max temp to a lower level, like 70? I do it with my rtx2080ti, doesnt run hotter than 70 (although I cant max out the game for good fps)

GTX 2080 TI for me.... I can't play this game too much fan speed ....

Y'all putting these cards in a sealed box? My 3090ti barely hits 70C at 4K with uncapped FPS and maxed settings.

rtx 2080 ti no problems at all

undervolt and adjust fan curve. Some card fans don't ramp up to 100 by default

It's the engine guys, Unity isn't exactly the best for game performance - and regardless, the devs have repeatedly stated that they're not focusing on performance at this point (remember you're playing an early access title).

I'm still rocking an 980ti lol Waiting for the new stuff this year. No problems here with everything on ultra etc. etc.

this, unity is awful engine for optimization, even with games that are visually as simple as this.

My 3080 isn't getting even close to this hot (high 70s running 1440p) but it does rev it up more than seems necessary for the graphics output the game requires. That being said, I am running my own fan curve that's a bit more aggressive in the higher temps. The default would happily let it get up over 80. I also have a strong case fan setup to help evacuate the hot air from the case.

Just remember that this isn't optimized yet and your GPU is going to keep itself as cool as it needs. RTX 30s can go up to 93°C maximum, per Nvidia. So while it might not be comfortably for your gaming room, anywhere in the 80s is comfortable for these GPUs.

Had same issue on RTX 3080 TUF 10GB. Fix was selling RTX and bying 6800 XT Z Trio.

3080 boards are rated to operate up to 93c. Hitting 85 while gaming is not unusual for that card.

on my 2060 at 1440p - 72 temperature ...
