Wrong. It was in service with its gun past 1990. Both the Jaguar and the original with gun served together. They were indeed on the front line throughout the whole 80's.
As someone who as studied armor most my life. I would suggest that people not get their info from "wiki" because a large portion of the data found there on a wide range of subjects is full of inaccuracies. Everything you stated was a mirror image of their page. I would suggest reading more books or lurking armor websites dedicated to the history and study of the topic for more accurate information.
