Tank Research
So obviously we have the Tankograd blog and tank-encyclopedia.com, but what other sources would you recommend for information on armored vehicles? Do the people behind GHPC plan on including some documentation either in game or in an old-school Microprose style manual?

Only superceded by the Falcon 4.0 manual. The ring-bound one, mmmmmm. I never did get that edition, so I found a photocopier at work that had no passcode and printed out the entire thing with that. Good times!

An old school microprose/janes will be good..
Until about two years ago (when dad cleaned out the house without telling me) I still had my manual from M1 tank platoon. My grandfather photocoppied a ten page section from the F-19 manual so I could look up weapon effects and aircraft ID. Everything I needed for a school report on ants came from the Sim-Ant book. And let us not forget the companion book to "Buzz Aldrin's Race into Space".

regarding sharing research:

https://gunnerheatpc.com/news/articles/ghpc-faq

"Q: Can you share your sources for optics design, armor performance, etc.?

A: No. As our focus is on making the game, we are not interested in diverting resources to catalogue and share the data we base the game's tuning on. We also have a high degree of confidence in our research team getting information complete enough for our purposes, and therefore we will not present their work for critique. The overall feel of the armored combat experience does not depend upon a few millimeters of steel here and there."

The devs do not share their sources

I recommend a visit to the German Tank Museum in Munster. Here you can see numerous exhibits from the First World War to the present day up close: https://daspanzermuseum.de/

Appreciate that the Devs are not interested in getting too bogged down in nitpicking small details.

If you want to obsess over small details, check out the RP Hunnicutt series on US Armor, particularly the Patton and Abrams vols. They are probably the most exhaustive books written on the design and internals of US tanks, though they are quite pricey. They should be up on Amazon, just look up Hunnicutt and Patton or Abrams. For Soviet tanks, without getting into archival research you probably are best served looking at the Osprey series of books. Theyre solid if fairly conventional to US Cold War era intel on each design. There are some other docs here and there, but the real juice is all up on DTIC and requires some archival skills.
