Then a few things to try. 1) You can put a solid object between you and the incoming missile, such as a house or terrain feature. 2) You can fire towards the point of origin, in hopes of killing the launcher and crew. 3) Last, try some erratic hard left and right turns, aka Sagger Drills.
Hopefully, when smoke rounds and turret grenade launchers become functional, then you can add popping smoke and seek cover/suppress the source.
TOWs, being wire guided, should not be able to hit you in forested areas. I'm not certain if its modeled correctly in game yet, but it's coming.
A better technique, once we have control of sections, bounding overwatch would help your survival techniques somewhat better, but alas, not modeled in game yet.
Ultimately, bear in mind, developer has a roadmap published and all will be addressed. Also bear in mind, it's still early access but well on it's way to maturing rather nicely.
You're basically performing a "Sagger Drill" which consisted of erratic and randomized stops, hard left or right turns. The goal was to throw the aim of the ATGM gunner off and cause the incoming missile to miss you. You were conducting an established battle drill without realizing it. Kudos
