Game really looks promising and I know it is in early access so I hope the developes fix that issue.
Also the frame rate drops very fast when I start a mission in the campaign and afte maybe 30-60 seconds they are stable again.
I did notice it more so while using optics same as someone mentioned above.
It doesn't make a different where the graphics settings are as I don't think its related.
I played every single internal/private build of the GHPC alpha phase restricted to Patreon supporters for the past 1.5+ years prior to this Steam Early Access release, don't get discouraged as this very first Steam build of this game, while crashing every time I play a dynamic campaign mission, is the first build out of dozens I've personally played that crashes like this, i.e. crashing every single time you play a mission.
The dev team is very small but extremely hard working, consistently fixing all bugs players point out shortly after every new build is released and really care about the players and our experience with the game.
I think they should have released the new dynamic campaign system features in one last internal, Patreon only alpha build before releasing on Steam Early Access with this large and complex new version of the Patreon-only alpha's mission system.
But I'm very confident a big patch is coming in just a few days, not weeks, that will fix this huge crash issue so many players are experiencing, including me, every-time a new mission is played after a few minutes into it.
In summary, this first Steam build is, by far, the least stable out of the dozens I've personally played (for many hours each) for over a year as a Patreon backer.
Therefore, this first Steam Early Access build is uncharacteristically unstable compared with all previous builds, in my experience, which is extensive. I recommend you don't refund it and don't give up on GHPC yet!
It's a genuinely fantastic game with HUGE promise and potential that's being made by a wonderful, unusually talented small team of independent developers.
NOTE:

With the only other option even remotely close to the experience offered by GHPC being War Thunder (online-only, unrealistic maps, pay-to-win, shady mechanics) and the sole other being Steel Beasts Professional (very expensive, outdated graphics, updates come very slowly and while its controls are highly-realistic, down to the individual buttons in each tank's turret/hull position, it's so much realism that it comes at the expense of playability and ease-of-access, the player's valuable time, and at the expense of fun, personally), GHPC! is truly in a league-of-its-own and until it becomes a major success, there won't likely be any other similar PC games coming out anytime soon, i.e. many years, that has its, to me, perfect balance of realism vs. gameplay accessibility, beautiful graphics, outstanding dev team, and awesome totally offline content.
<OPINION>We should all be supporting this game, and the team behind it, intensely and sharing this awesome game widely. I've been waiting for a proper modern reboot of the classic early-to-mid 1990's semi-realistic, voxel-engine-powered singleplayer-only PC tank pseudo-simulator games for >25 years until GHPC, let's not let it slip into obscurity by abandoning it so early on. </OPINION>
If you have a crash you'd like to send us info on, send Player.log and Player-prev.log to info@gunnerheatpc.com along with a description of the issue. If you can reliably reproduce the crash (e.g. "Every time I set my optics above 4000 meters the game crashes") you should use the Github issues page[github.com].
Note: DO NOT make a Github issue for something that only happens some of the time or doesn't have specific steps to reproduce it. If you make an issue that says "When I play campaign my game crashes a lot", we will delete it as unhelpful.
