All vehicles in GHPC are destroyed when they become combat ineffective: they can neither move nor shoot. This can be done by destroying vehicle systems, incapacitating crew, or causing a fire that leads to crew bailout. The Abrams has an advantage against the fire case, as its ammunition is usually sealed in compartments with blowout panels. However, there is still a way to defeat this.
The blowout panels only protect the Abrams when the ammo racks are fully closed and sealed. In GHPC, the presence of either an open ammo door or a puncture in the door or firewall will compromise the seal. If a fire or explosion occurs in a compromised ammo rack, the crew will evacuate. The Abrams ready rack door opens during reloading, and all its ammo racks have firewalls and doors that can be pierced by projectiles.
Thus, there are four main ways to force a one-shot kill of an Abrams:
- Ignite ammo in the turret bustle while the loader's ready rack door is open during a reload
- Ignite an ammo rack and pierce its firewall or door with one shot
- Incapacitate the gunner and driver with one shot
- Incapacitate the gunner and stop the engine with one shot
Of course, given the strong frontal protection of the Abrams, accomplishing any of these will be far from a simple task. Your best bet is a partial or full flank with the element of surprise.
Good luck!
The frontal arc of the M1 is a No-Go zone for 3BM15 and only with a lucky turret ring pen can you damage it with the HEAT shell or if the hull of the M1 is facing downwards, exposing the weak upper frontal plate which you can exploit.
Thank you. I tested and HEAT does more damages to Abram's crew (from the side ofc)
I think there's a minor bug that the crew (Abram) was killed but tank wasn't completely destroyed so the game didn't end.
