Great game but...
I absolutely love the game. My only complain is that the end game grinding is a little too slow.

Most of the cursed items are way overpriced for what they do IMO.
Same with the combo items.

When you need 200M or so to get the last big things you literally have to play for a couple of hours for almost no real gain.

There are many ways to make money at the end of the game, using them all together helps a lot.

I must be missing something then because I am doing commodity trades, stock trading, have all the property except for the last one, am selling to Tinto, and have my store pretty much entirely automated. But making a million gold is still an effort much less the tens of millions.

Also I definitely agree on the cursed and combo accessories. They are not worth the millions of gold spent on them. Maybe the trade accessory, but the others are just a couple hundred extra gold when I need hundreds of thousands to be meaningful.

I mean I spent some time watching my store and it has trouble breaking ten thousand profit in the amount of time my passive income ticks once. It's a good source of revenue to get there, but isn't really meaningful in the end game. And all but a few accessories just boost profits in the store by a bit.

By comparison a single bulk commodity trade of oil made me 12 million.

If you have all the properties then 10 passive income ticks will make about a million coin. Where's the effort there? Now while that's happening you can engage in any of the other systems to make additional money, the store isn't going to match that level of passive income but it can supplement it quite nicely, and more importantly it generates XP which can be spent somewhere to really start making money.

There's also more to upgrading the store than getting it automated, A lot of new upgrades become available through exploration in the end game.

And the very expensive things are there as something to work towards, they are still quite useful and there are ways to optimise what you get out of them. Also consider that they will carry over to new game+ soon.

Well for a million it isn't hard, but it still takes about 15 seconds per tick. So getting ten million gold still takes about 45 minutes. Which means several hours for the big things. And the bureau HQ is a billion gold. That would take 46 hours of passive income by my calculation. I have no idea how that's feasible.

I know about the flow pix, but that eats xp way faster than I can earn it in the store.

I'm not sure what you mean by store upgrades. I think I've got just about everything and the only thing I can see that might be a meaningful upgrade is the upsell hat. And that's 40 million gold itself. Well and the chicken eggs. I did get those.

You're at the point where you can finish the game, all these extra expensive things are optional for people who want to keep playing. When they weren't there I got the opposite comments of "why isn't there more expensive things for me to spend my money on?".

I want players to figure out how to optimise on their own, but there are ways to make money very quickly.

If anyone is wondering the upsell hat is actually pretty great. Not sure if it's 40 million great, but it really makes a difference in the shop.

And yeah I know I can finish the game any time I want. But I'm a completionist. And that last property is taunting me.

Also about a new game+. One bonus that I think would be extremely great is if you could make it so that item caps were extended. I can see it's possible with fire, and anyone who's in a new game plus has already done it the hard way.

Also it would be nice if we could buy some upgrades for the bulk commodity traders. Maybe increase how many goods they stock and how fast they replenish. I'd say increase the number available at once, but then that's basically printing money.

The numbers on them do go up as you use them. But I can see adding more upgrades there.
Arcanestomper Mar 25, 2023 @ 9:54pm
Yeah I noticed that, but it seems to only affect their first commodity. Or maybe only certain commodities. Oil and coffee go up, but rare metals and animal feed don't seem to change much. As in maybe 20-30 animal feed, but never more than 10 metal.

I've gotten hundreds of oil at a time and that's by far the best. So it doesn't really change the profitability of bulk trading, but it's a little odd.

Agree that there seems to be a few minor issue with commodities. Animal feed is only ever sold at lots of 10 rather than increasing like the other commodities. The woman from coffee kingdom both buys and sells coffee for higher prices than anyone else which doesn't seem to make sense. Maybe an extra 0 was added to her buy/sell prices accidentally?

That feed bug slipped past me, it'll be fixed in the next patch.

I think you mean the Hemcroft Mayor with the coffee prices, that's intentional. They want the coffee so the price they're willing to pay for it is high, and not wanting to give it up easily the price to buy it from them is also high.

Got it, thanks!
