Well if you wanted any evidence that you might be able to beat it, there is a trigger above a hatch located in the room that you can find by using unity explorer, and some guy claimed he managed to beat it after 4 hours of trying. do with this what you will.

Other people claimed they completed the Countdown ending in the 2013 release but no amount of datamining ever proved it was possible; the buttons didn't update any used variables and doors and hatches never actually changed states. The trigger volume around the hatch is no doubt a similar red herring.
