They implemented bark mode though, just in a different way.
They could have implemented a detection for achievement cheaters and trigger serious room, ie. when system date is set to before the last time the game was run.
As for the Portal scene being changed out for Rocket League, that one I don't have a definite answer. My best guess is that it didn't make sense to have the second one be an old gag when the first one was new?
It's more of the basis that source games all have this same sort of feeling to them, for lack of a better word. That and the fact that the original SP, before the first one you could purchase, was a source mod.
Also keep in mind that the commercial status of a project will affect if it can be considered fair use. Even if it's only a relatively small part, Microsoft would prey on the fact that C.C.C. is charging $25 for the game.
