Controller Not Working

Controller isn't working in the menu or game. Tired the usual restart (computer and game), Verify Game Files, check for any updates, but no luck.
I submitted a ticket but wanted to know if anyone else had this issue (and might have a fix)

The only workaround I found was to use the Wireless Xbox USB Dongle. However via Bluetooth it doesn't work.

My generic PS controller doesn't work with this game on PC, It's worked with all the many other games I've played. Steam needs to remove the "full controller support" label from the store page.

Xbox One S controller connected via steam link, not detected by the game (unlike the original) rebinding mouse and keyboard to controller buttons does work but then the fact the mouse cursor doesn't appear properly still makes it impossible to get to the main menu

Same issue here. No controller function, despite steam overlay telling me controller configs are loaded.

gee, with all of these people, one would think it's a GAME problem. if that's the case, why are problems with a controller starting to crop up on all the forums? maybe ALL of us have faulty controllers? on ALL of our games? don't ask the devs to fix what isn't THEIR problem. it IS a problem, but not with THIS particular game. it's (look around) a problem with.........

Yep no Bluetooth controllers work currently. I've tried multiple different kinds. Great game but this is the biggest bummer for me thus far since i tend to use a controller when playing on my living room TV instead of my gaming monitor at my desk.

Darn! I thought the new update would fix my Bluetooth Xbox controller not working. I saw the A button on the screen and thought OMG!! But no, it still doesn't do anything when I press any buttons on my Xbox controller :( It appears like it sees it, but doesn't register any buttons.

If its possible to report a store page, I recommend doing so. The store lists this game having "full controller support" and it certainly doesn't and I haven't seen any indication that they are aware or intend to fix it.

Edit: Store Page> Right Hand Side, Flag Icon.
Choose "game broken" for reason and request the "Full Controller Support" label be removed in the comment section.

They can have it back when they actually have controller support.

Same problem for me on macOS - M1 Mac Mini with Xbox Series Controller. The game recognises that a controller is active but doesn't register any input

after the controller not being recognized by the game, i disabled steam input on the game (properties > controller) and i can navigate the menu now and it works in-game, too. also, i started from the normal steam launcher not the big picture mode (this really made the difference for another game, dunno if it's doing it here, too). the only problem remaining is that if the controller reconnects in-game, it is not recognized anymore by the game, though i had this problem on other games, too, so it may be related to something else. using xbox one bluetooth on a linux distro

Just tried this and still nothing. This time tho, the menu doesn't even acknowledge I'm using a controller (i.e., showing A or B for menu selections even tho I am unable to press anything). I followed all your steps, but to no avail. :(
