You select units with your number keys and give orders with your function keys, make sure to use the regular numbers and not your numpad.
When you hold tab you can also cycle between units with Q and E.
When deploying you will want to create some space between units, I have markers on my todo list to make selecting units easier and visually more guided
When you hold the left mouse button you can rotate a unit when placing it.
Let me know if you need more help!
With tab I can cycle through the units using Q, but when a unit is selected, the view doesn't change. The view stays fixed on the commander, which makes giving orders nearly impossible. With F5 I can change the view to some bowman, but it's still unclear what I can do from that position.
I tried using the mouse wheel, which is supposed to give an 'overhead view', but actually the mouse wheel does nothing either.
As far as I can tell, there is no pause button that lets me give orders, which means I can never take my time in exploring the commands and keys.
In short, a lot needs either fixing or explaining.
When giving orders you always do that from the perspective of your commander and in real time, this is not a strategy game in the classical sense. The view will only raise a bit to give you more oversight over the flat terrain of the low countries.
With F5 you take control of a unit, when you first select a unit using one of the number keys and then press F5 you take control of a specific unit.
I would suggest watching some videos of other people playing the game on youtube to get a sense of the general gameplay. That's all I can offer at the moment unfortunately in terms of a tutorial.
A proper tutorial has my priority as soon as I get the last combat updates in.
