Lvl 5 crops

I have lvl 4 turnips seeds. I planted them and hit them with the sickle instead of harvesting to get seeds, i thought would be lvl 5, but they were also lvl 4. I need to harvest a lvl 5 crop. I have the iron sickle. What am I doing wrong?

Use Greenifier on the soil when you plant the seeds to increase the chance for a level boost.

Also, having a higher lvl sickle helps.

Iron sickle only gets you so far, improve your sickle, or, use enough farming/greenifier to get them to grow to a higher level. You don't have to harvest right away, can keep watering, and letting them grow. Will only grow up to +2 from seed though. +1 more if you have the right level of sickle.
