Dragon looked cool, though.
RF5 went back to Harvest Moon levels of minimal "one per heart level" dialogue and it was horrid, it had even less variety than RF3 and that game is extremely short.
cause 1 thing is certainly new in Dragon Kingdom WE HAVE BOWS!
RE4S was superior in every way to this game, which is super disappointing to say since I was really looking forward to 5…
*scoffs*
Yeah, superior in cheaper graphics and story events locked behind RNG.
My character has gone 3 years in game, and still can't marry Amber because one of her bloody sub-marriage events won't trigger, the RNG hates me that much.
To the point I finally gave up on RF4, I don't freaking care about the story.
I already killed the big bad, all I can do is explore the dungeon that requires a tons of levels more than the final boss did.
And still can't trigger a marriage... yeah, real superior game.
(As opposed to RF5, where things are marked, not random, and it's easy to progress.)
(Yeah, if you can't tell, I hate RF4 with a passion. The previous ones handled it so much better, especially Frontier)
Good grief, NO!
The DS era is dead.
No one wants to play on pixelated crappy 2D, like all the cookie-cutters out there.
Frontiers was much beloved, and it wasn't 2D.
Neither was Oceans/Tides of Destiny.

Seriously, just how selfish you are for saying this? No one want to play pixelated 2D??? Just because you don't want to, that doesn't make every single person in this world doesn't want to either. Even when that Steve asking to return to 2D, its already a proof that someone want to play pixelated 2D.
Plus, saying "Frontiers was much beloved, and it wasn't 2D. Neither was Oceans/Tides of Destiny.", dude, look at the reality. Most people that talking about RF series have mentioned that they like RF4 or RF3 the most.
Stop acting high and mighty and learn to accept that people are different, they could and allowed to like different stuff than you, and don't try to say something was much beloved without even trying to do a research about it first.
Fix your quotes, dude.
Yeah, how selfish can I be when people want to go back in time to the flippin DS era, rather than live in the modern world?
How DARE I go against a couple people and think for myself?
-------
3D is the future. Sorry, but you can't stay in the past.
We've had 4 games of top-down, ugly 2D mazes.
It's time to give it a rest.
The last thing we need is people saying Rune Factory is doing like Pokemon and is just a cookie-cutter series.
RF1 through 4, not much changed visually. Just different text, and a few changes to scenery.
Just like a lot of recent Pokemon games (except Scarlet/Violet) are nothing more than a bunch of reskins of the same game.
(Seriously, could anyone see Pokemon going back to those ugly jagged motion sprites from Gen 5? Or X&Y's jagged outlines?)
Or New Super Mario Bros. (Played one, you've played them all)
So now, if we go back to RF4, it'll be "Played one Rune Factory, you've literally played them all."
(And let's not forget the RNG issues that killed all of RF4's fun)
RF5 is fine visually. I do not understand this irrational hate people seem to have towards it for some reason.
It's either because people are trying to play this in Mouse+Keyboard (...Why on this green earth would you ever play a 3D game with M+K?!!).... or because someone on TikTok/YouTube/Twitter told them to hate RF5.
The graphics are nice, the controls are fine (provided you're playing with an actual controller, like you should be).
