how to use fertilizer bin?
I've tried searching all over the web about this topic, but there's no sources at all on how to use the fertilizer bin, I'm in love with this game so far but the devs were clearly being VERY counterintuitive with this title, took me an hour or 2 to find out how to pick the bamboo shoots off of the earth dragon :dazed_yeti:

It's main purpose is to bring your fields back to normal, for whatever level of field you've gotten it to. And then keep it there, so you don't have to do it manually with chemicals and corn. It uses up the weeds you put in, at 6am, when it changes to a new day.

Priscilla teaches you how in the tutorial. You can interact with it and choose the put all weeds in fertilizer bin option, or you can put any other kinds of grass in manually. It will fertilize all of your fields automatically as long as you keep it stocked.

I know how to put stuff in it, but it doesn't seem to be working because no fertilizer is being consumed when it's placed down, that's what I'm confused about

Fertilizer is consumed overnight.
Also, the game tells you with a sign in Phoros Woodlands how to collect bamboo shoots. It is also collected the same way as it was in the previous games.
Neither of these features have changed from their Rune Factory 4 iteration.
Try exploring and experimenting next time.

who said I played previous rune factory installments? and this stuff should've been explained in the tutorial, you may have been playing since the first rune factory for all I care, but there's bound to be new players no matter if we get rune factory 6 or if it continues all the way to a 10th installment, we need actual tuition here, nobody should be limited to looking such things up

You have an obstacle that can't be picked up, can't be cut down with an axe nor be smashed with a hammer.
Now, what other tools do you have? A sickle? A sword?
Face it, you didn't even try to experiment with this unknown obstacle. Also, all Rune Factory games have plenty of features that are revealed later or just not explained at all. Get used to it.

repeating myself once again because you clearly have the mental capacity of a 5 year old and didn't read my reply before running your mouth... again, rune factory 5 is my first game in the series, you can't expect me to immediately know everything about rune factory as I've had no past experience with any of the games :BL3Facepalm:

edit: wow, gab and 3 of his friends clowned me, just goes to show how irrational he and like minded individuals are

Additional... It will use MORE fertiliser as you get MORE farms, and it gets pretty excessive with how much it uses, if you unlock all the farms, and farm them all hard.

Glad I am not the only one who feels like fertilizer demands are too much. I am sick of collecting weeds every day and never having enough.

idk, last I played I still have at least 50 weeds in my fertilizer iirc, but that's probably because 1. I don't have all farm dragons yet and 2. none of my current fields are max level yet

your field level is irrelevant.
Your field usage is.
Fertilizer is used to bring things back to normal, after being used, so it'll get used if things are below normal for that level.

ah cheers/ I wondered why sometimes it's not using any.

Do you know if it brings soil quality down though if its not in use?

I honestly can't ever tell when it functions because there's no indication other than memorizing your soil hp and checking it the next day, rf5 is the best stardew valley inspired game I've played yet, but it's way too counterintuitive in some aspects

I regret to inform you that this is a spinoff of the series that inspired Stardew Valley, not the other way around. This is part of why some bits are counterintuitive, because it's an ancient series that's stuck in its ways.

either way, that doesn't justify leaving vital information out of the game that should be in there, especially since it's an installment that's only been out for about a year
